I have a Filmore 50 and it’s a full out modern gem. Really think this one from Mesa will go down as a classic just like the black face and others. Worth every penny. Its fx loop is really outstanding and it handles pedals incredibly. I have a pair of unpotted alnico 3 custombuckers in a 58’ Murphy Lab and the mix is heavenly. Both my Teles sound so good in this amp and so does my Gibson Standard 50s with P90s. Really exceptional amp that exceeds the growing hype behind it. Good to see for once.

Yeah I think this is Mesa's closest tone to a blackface. I have a 1965 BandMaster head, pretty killer too

I saw this very heavy metal band in Hollywood -had to go to the restroom -took the elevator also used by roadies-lo and behold was the twin reverb being transported after the band played---I thought to myself-very clean amp must be great with distortion pedals obviously used by this metal band-secret used by muscians-hmmmmmm

Nah. Real metal musicians choose very, very different gear. Generally a high gain amp like a 5150 or Mesa Rectifier or similar boosted by a tubescreamer or other OD to cut lowend and tighten up the response of the amp and going through a cab with Celestion V30s. Very different approach vs the Fender + pedals rock crowd. Very different sounding too.

They sound nearly identical here, but the reverb on the Mesa is very bright and should probably be turned down. That's the biggest difference I heard.
