You skills filming these ships are serious , and the real heros here are mother nature, and then these amazing ships. The two combined together makes it fascinating to watch. From an aviation nerd I could never imagine I would be in awe for theses ships and their environement, but here I am.

I know I'm about 6 months late in viewing these videos but aren't these vessels actually referred to as boats instead of ships? Is that because they only ply the fresh-water Great Lakes or is there a technical reason? These huge Lakers are a super interesting part of both the past and present of the awesome Great Lakes! Really nice video work and wonderful selection of music. Thanks!

Great video. I'm new to watching these ships; it's strange how exciting it is, whether you see them in the winter ice or in the summer. I have a question - how did the tug in the front get out from between the ship and the dock? It didn't look like there was enough room for it to turn around and go past the Miner. Maybe I missed something. Thanks.

...and I'd like to know what kind of drone flies so successfully in such cold weather! (I'm a licensed drone pilot myself.)
@DoorCountyDronebyMarkEvenson2 жыл бұрын
Jim, It is a Mavic Air 2. I have tested it over land first in the cold never flinched. I do keep the drone and especially the batteries warm with the defroster in the vehicle. The batteries do warm up a bit while flying as long as you keep the drone moving. I am studying for the 107. Although I have been a licensed ham for 45 yrs. WD9EXO. Thanks for Watching!!
