Mesh analysis, also known as mesh current analysis, is a method used to analyze electrical circuits. It is based on Kirchhoff's voltage law (KVL), which states that the sum of the voltages around any closed loop in a circuit is zero.
In mesh analysis, the circuit is divided into meshes or loops, which are typically formed by the current paths of individual components. The currents flowing through these meshes are treated as independent variables. By applying KVL to each mesh, a set of simultaneous equations can be formed and solved to determine the unknown currents.
