We learned that cold soldering does work! At least long enough to finish the video.

You need to heat the pin then add the solder, after you flux.

thanks for the tip though i'm pretty sure it will actually take a lot of practice to really become "comfortable" doing it. 😅

@@Michael-pk5le the soldering part was actually a grueling experience for me as i only made use of what i currently own and really lack the knowledge, all the more the skill of soldering - so i cannot really help you with that. but a number of resources recommend the use a smaller soldering wire and tip.

did you have flux cored solder? if not you need to add fluxt to the joints.

Where do you get the diagram to know which pins to solder the OLED display to?
@MilanKarakas2 жыл бұрын
Pay attention on proper pin order; VCC, GND, SCL, SDA. Some OLED displays having VCC and GND swapped. Then on the board watch for 3V3,GND, 22, 21. So solder VCC to 3V3, GND to GND, SCL to 22, and SDA to pin 21.

Thats really cool! I'm waiting for both of my boards to arrive. Is it possible to setup the software to see the range on each one? (Hoping from my house and down the street until it stops) Any way to setup GPS on it for the measurement? Thanks

So, what is purpose with TTGO to communicate over the phone, when you can easily send SMS? Underground communication? Really?! If your government want to track you, they will do it even if your phone is off.
@jesarjamesgacula3 жыл бұрын
Sir, I'd like to develop a "proof of concept" where this tech can be used in information dissemination, and search, rescue & relief operations in times of calamities. May I know how do you intend to use LoRa?
@jaimeivargas8483 жыл бұрын
personally, it's just a school project though it really got my interest already. ☺️ i do hope this gets implemented by our local government units - especially those in the remote areas and are calamity-prone. and hopefully in the near future, communication through mesh network will be mainstreamed and as part of my wishlist, that this topology will eventually replace these 4G/5G/nG networks. 🙏🏼

What else can this gadget do without an Android phone? My guess the Android with the app is the device to send chat or text messages. I only have an iPhone but like to experiment with this LORA. Salamat.
@jaimeivargas8483 жыл бұрын
using it with an android phone is simply the easiest path, of course only if you already have an android phone. haven't tried it yet but you may try using their python API (pypi.org/project/meshtastic/) from your (windows/mac) computer instead. if you're gonna try it with a mac, kindly comment here a link to your guide - wanna try it myself as well. 👌🏼
