In the latest Meshlab versions, the filter has been renamed to: "Surface Reconstruction: Screened Poisson"

Is there a way to remove the flat part that forms behind and that closes well (in a rounded way)? Thank u!!!

how about exporting the texture? How would you export a UV map of the color?

I know I'm late, but since this is the top comment, here's a solution: gist.github.com/shubhamwagh/0dc3b8173f662d39d4bf6f53d0f4d66b

Hello, Good job. How do you remove the edge whose length are greater than n*mean(length). So that the poisson reconstruction is closer to the original

My version of meshlab does NOT have this feature. It has “Surface Reconstruction: Poisson”, but that has different options and does not work for me. I’m here redirected by standard cyborg’s Capture app, trying to convert a point cloud 3D scan from their app to a mesh, no success so far.

I am trying to make my mesh water tight so I can calculate the volume. How do I stop mesh lab from generating geometry around my mesh when I use the Poisson reconstruction?

Filters->Remeshing-> close holes; play around with the settings there. It's worked for me

Hi there I'm here from the standard cyborg’s Capture app. I used the Screened Poisson Surface Reconstruction but an error pops up. "Filter requires correct per vertex normals. E.g. it is necessary that our ALL the input vertices have a proper, not-null normal. If you encounter this error on a triangulated mesh try to use the 'Remove Unreferenced Vertices' filter (usually unreferenced vertices on surfaces have null normals). Enabling the Cleaning option also works. I tried the Remove Unreferenced Vertices filter and it just deletes all the vertices. I don't know which cleaning option to use. I tried a bunch and they didn't do anything. Any suggestions? I'm trying to export this scan into an OBJ. Thanks

Hi! I downloaded a .ply file instead and that worked fine. First I tried with .obj and that did not work. Then I exported it to .obj for my 3d software.

I had the same exact problem. I solved by using this filter "Filters --> Point Set --> Compute normals for point sets" on the point cloud before applying the Poisson reconstruction filter. Hope this helps
