thomaas makes such a good point when talking about the djent scene...even though a lot of bands take influence from meshuggah and may sound similar, meshuggah took influences from other bands and sounds similar to them. it's true of any musical artist.

Going by their lyrics and artwork psychedelics seem to be a large influence, they even have a song called 'Ayahuasca Experience', so I think they've made it clear enough without addressing it directly. Listening to or seeing Meshuggah under the influence of any entheogen is an unforgettable experience.
