So i saw Meshuggah with Ministry at the Hollywood House of Blues. Meshuggah finished their set and before Ministry came out, Jens Kidman was standing next to the Meshuggah merch booth. I approched him and introduced myself. I thanked him for the great show they had put on, and for the music they had released for all of us to enjoy. I extended my hand as an affirmative hand shake good-bye......it was as limp as a wet noodle. Fucking broke my heart. I still love them though.

When I went to see my first Meshuggah gig I was half expecting the low-tuned stuff to sound flabby and muddy, but both the playing and the live sound engineering were flawless. @tolisdrums I know for the newer 8 string stuff, the bass is actually tuned up so it's playing the exact same notes as the guitar generally. The scale length of the bass and thickness of the strings and pickups gives it such a different sound. With old songs I imagine he uses a 5 string tuned down a half step to Bb

@LfunkeyA When i listen I'm glad there is a purposeful removal of the extra linearity that melody implies. For me the rhythms gain more perspectives, because there's one less thing enforcing the rhythm and you can pick and choose different flows or grooves whatever. Change it up every time you listen to it

@m4j0rbumm3r Saw them live at Brutal Assault in the Czech Republik. Pretty much the hole festival suffered from bad sound. Worth every second, totally agree with you, one of the greatest live-sounds I've ever heard :)

@Zozol6 Hell yeh. Its actually not apocalyptic in a way. But, if you can agree with me, All the songs on "ObZen" have lyrics that seem to Personify Death and Evil in a very Terrifying and ominous fashion. The song lyrics on "Catch 33" seem to personify a person thoughts, a person who is trapped in insanity and paradoxes "Chaosphere", the songs in chaosphere seem to actually be from perspectives of the Common-choatic-destructive nature of humankind. Meshuggah is shakespeares cyborg.
