One of the cool things about Meshuggah is that it sounds like industrial sounds. Like sounds machines make at a factory. It's awesome. It's so mechanical.

The one falsely correcting me about who band members are? Knowing who band members are makes you creepy right? What a stupid fuckin thing to say smh...These guys have been around nearly 30 years. They deserve some notoriety. It's not like you even need to research them, if you knew anything about metal, you would already know who Tomas Haake is, seeing how he is regarded as one of the top drummers in the history of metal, and top drummers alive period.

Say what you want, Meshuggah revolutionized the way people play, and have bands much more popular then they imitating their style. From Whitechapel (Saw is the Law) to Deftones (I've Seen the Butcher) the influence to me is pretty clear. Meshuggah did to metal what Tool did to rock. Disagree about their talent all you want, they were unique and changed the face of music. Great band.

I love how this has become a sort of karaoke song for us Meshuggah fans. The "everyone sing along" song. It's got the perfect kind of tempo and rythym for it. Not too slow and not too fast. Ir's simple (for a meshuggah song) and it's catchy. It seems to focus a little bit more on the vocals and lyrics than most of their other songs. And eeeeveryone knows the lyrics to this one. I kind of had that epiphany when I saw them in Boston during December. Literally everyone was growling those lyrics along with Jens. Including me It was magnificent.

I like juice, in a shark suit, filtered vitamin substance, add sour iced water into it, too many limes, everything is salmon, separated one fin at a time.

its amazing how they can make a riff out of 2 notes and make it awesome

This is epic with bass booster. Listening to this with IPod earphones is awesome! Can't stop headbanging. This band is criminally underrated. I can see why it has so much influence!

From run to the hills to this whithin a beer cup time makea me think, wtf has metal got into. Before pantera, After, hardcore included, now meshuggah. .. rather complex. I like it. But still, some old metálica riffs and pantera killing sequences still take the best of me. Fuck yeah.
@scroggdogg289 жыл бұрын
Meshuggah has been around since 1987 or 86, they have evolved nicely and that's why they have a underground following. What they also do in theory musically is very cool. I think Meshuggah is one of the best "Metal" groups among Pantera, Metallica...etc
@PreciseGameplay9 жыл бұрын
Metallica might have some classically arranged song structures, but that's where the complexity ends...
@MaxHohenstaufen9 жыл бұрын
I don't think complexity necessarily equals anything positive. For instance, queen is rather simple, compared to heavy metal (we will rock you?)and yet regarded as one of the most relevant rock bands ever. Awsome things are often those done simply. Complex can be.cool, but when it's complex for complexity's sake alone... not so much. Meshuggah has a good.measure of coolnes out of complexity. But I think sometimes it's rather overwhelming than cool.to.listen.

I was doomed to play extended range guitars...first heard this on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball compilation album. I was ten years old when that came out and this was the best song on the mix - saved for last. The sound was so immense and it touched something deep in my being, like a memory from another existence. Crazysauce

3:08 this solo is starnge
@AntiCookie0078 жыл бұрын
because it uses the chromatic scale which includes notes that are out of key of the original sound.
@firstlast-wg2on8 жыл бұрын
+Tarkus Emerson The "chromatic scale" AKA, every note.
@AntiCookie0078 жыл бұрын
Technically there are still microtones in between those notes used in certain cultures.
@firstlast-wg2on8 жыл бұрын
Tarkus Emerson I knew you were gonna say that after I posted haha, well yeah but I think it's pretty anal to point those out as there are an infinite number of notes between the notes we use, it's just convenient for people who live in western societies to just settle for what we hear.
