@@soleywolfgangsdottir Not an argument, an opinion, supported by facts, so not utter nonsense. You can agree or disagree. The point still remains, as good as Susanne is, she did not produced the same quality as Aurora at the same age. What is nonsense, however is your lack of respect, as you can't even bother to use capital letters for Susanne's name and your laziness/ignorance of grammar in general. Wolfgang needs to find another daughter.

Domestic violence. He kills her. She comes back to haunt him. Listen to the companion piece ‘churchyard’ … KEXP version best.
There is a moment, when she sings she “can’t remember much more” that you see her involuntarily shake/shiver like she is shaking something off, maybe a memory. Then we see her look off, to her right, and it seems like she is somewhere else, at that moment.

I have interpreted this as much darker, involving actual windows, actual falling, and blood on the ground. Aurora writes and performs in ways that truly bare her soul, but she often writes about the experiences of other people and interprets them through her own emotional lens. That's what I thought was going on. Your interpretation is much more comfortable and I like it. Thanks.
@JaniceDAgostino2 жыл бұрын
In agreement. She “can’t remember much more” with that confused frown led me to a far darker interpretation as well. Feathers falling from a pillow… is unnatural without a ripping of the cover somehow. I did not see pretty red flowers, and her return from a shadow world to haunt her lover added to the darkness for me.
@rosalieelliottofficial2 жыл бұрын
@@JaniceDAgostino oh that’s actually a good point. Especially the ripping a pillow. This is why I love brainstorming various interpretations. Well said

Hi Randall. Very valid point on your part too tho. I like how we all hear different things
@StickyCatStudios2 жыл бұрын
Everyone interprets differently, and for this reason (also her hope) Aurora doesn’t like to explain her songs, but I’m pretty sure the darker interpretation is closer the truth, that this song is a story of domestic violence … no matter how beautiful the song, the meaning may still be horrific … for instance, Through The Eyes Of A Child, it is inspired by an event occurred in Norway, a mass killing of school children, and Aurora was effected deeply by it, one of her childhood friends was one of those killed in the attack
@StickyCatStudios2 жыл бұрын
Oh, last thing I wish share, for your consideration, watch again and look for … in the middle, after one of the refrains, “and I can’t remember much more … but I know it happened … quiet” … she makes a flinching motion, as if remembering (or more likely emotionally connecting with the story of) being struck, out of nowhere, and after the flinch, there’s a rocking movement, which is one of the body’s ways of providing self comfort … and if that is the story for her (she self describes the importance of music for her is to tell stories) then it gives much meaning to “falling like a flower on the meadow,” and the hints or red which make us think of maybe, blood

Hello Rosalie, you have chosen a very good song. AURORA is the queen of harmonies. This is a masterpiece. Your analysis is great again. The song is about the rape of a woman - some say. I find it interesting that the lyrics are so sad (violence in relationships leading to death) and on the other hand the music is very beautiful (harmonies) and doesn't give me that sad feeling. The music is more soothing. This contrast struck me in many of her sad songs. Does she want to spread hope? You can change something. You can't let it get to that point. And then everything is better. An invitation to change something, to change yourself. You have it in your own hands. Is that what this contrast is supposed to do? And let's not forget that this was sung live on a radio station. Many artists want this perfection when they go into a studio and after many, many attempts have recorded their song. And let's not forget that this perfection would not have been possible without her accompaniment and backing vocalist. Silja Sol is also an outstanding singer and musician. AURORA is lucky to work with such good artists. Or is it her ability to choose the right ones? This is also the case with the Murder song at the Nobel Peace Prize concert - that you should see. - Murder song (5,4,3,2,1) - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJmThIqKi9yLrtk - the saddest love song I've ever heard - Lucky (Live at Nidarosdomen) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/d563mqSIZ8SJd9k - the song is her way of suicide prevention - The Seed (Official Video - VEVO) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX7GkIKDatSBd5o - it's about the climat change, AURORAS “Earth Song” - Exist For Love (Official Video - VEVO) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYqnnKWAls52qNk - best love song ever!!! - Cure For Me (Official Video - VEVO) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWKalZluZrd_b7s - this cheerfulness of the music - even though she is hurt. - Queendom (Official Video) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYavloubhtCkmpI - about her queendom?? - Warrior (Live on the Honda Stage) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2THp3Zqqal8adU - it is for her warrios Important information: AURORA is holding back one song from every decade of her life to release those songs as the last album after her death. Just close your eyes and absorb the music and her gorgeous lyrics, I swear she had to be inspired by Led Zeppelin's third album which was very folksy, especially with the songs "Tangarine" and "That's the Way" so divinely done, what more can we say about this young lady. I just now joined the first tier on your Patreon, let's see where this takes us EYO. Very cool reaction. It was pleasure to watch it :). Also agree on many comments about Aurora. And about interpreting song: in my opinion it is about domestic violence and/or overusing power against someone else. This interpretation is also in line with her tone. She says love is wild not in a wild way but with sad way. Also in some moment her body movement was very visible when she "shake" and moving up and down on her feet to calm down as she is very into the song and emotions of it. But as you said she has usually very poetic lyrics and open for interpretations for each ppl. And she even said in interviews that she wants others to interpret it for themselves and sometimes she does not talk about her meaning or only giving tips (but it depends from the song too - f.e. for a Runaway she even made a video for Genious with her meaning when she wrote it when she was 11 :) ).

As you said, "when you're in the presence of an artist". Truer words have never been spoken. I have been following and loving the music of Aurora and band for years now. The one constant that keeps me here with this genius, and her amazing friends, is the rather shocking amount of musical knowledge and intuition they have. As individuals, and as a band, they always show a true understanding of the music, whether its one of their original pieces, or a cover. This sounds obvious, but its really quite rare. Most singers/bands didnt write the song, and dont care about it. Who can blame them? imho

Hey, great reaction ! :D I love how much time you take to reflect on the meaning of the song at the end of the reaction, and share your heartfelt impressions... Too many reacters just watch the song and end it there imo - I love this kind of exchange and brainstorm afterwards :) Although I must respectfully disagree with your approach of the song - but maybe that comes from knowing a bit more of the Aurora context. She mentioned several times that it's "a very sad love story", and that one lover kills the other... the blood, falls and haunting are to be taken very literally in my eyes. Although I agree with you - there is such an ambiguity with comfort, love, softness, you can really tell how much she loves this person and how unreal and dreamy the situation is... but for me that translates to confusion at the pain she is feeling, confusion and pain that reaches Aurora as she sings (watch her bounce on her heels at the second "it happened quiet"...) All in all though I really appreciate your reaction, and your reactions of Aurora in general !! I really hope you'll keep going with them because I love listening to your thoughts about them :)) If I may, and I know your list is already long, I'd love to recommend my absolute favorites of hers: - The Seed. Watch the music video instead of a live imo, the way it is shot is breathtaking. - The River. A bit more of an uplifting song, I'd recommend her live performance at the Glasgow COP26 concert :) - Running with the Wolves. The music video is also exceptional - Queendom. Definitely more uplifting, her performance live on KEXP is one of her most energetic and enthralling I have ever seen - and, having seen her dance, you know all the weight of those words ;) Thanks for reading to the end of this wall, and have a wonderful day!! I'm so glad I caught this video so early :)

Totally unintentional but hey 😅 And thanks for considering my recommendations ! You will definitely not regret the Aurora rabbit hole... She's quite the singer, and each of her songs are so vivid and memorable that I've spent hours just diving into them, watching her concerts, a couple interviews even. Which i don't usually do, cuz I'm not one to fawn over celebrities - but she is such a unique being outside of her songs that it's worth it. As a matter of fact, maybe the final recommendation I'll leave you with today is, when you feel like it, to give her interview by Lifekeys a listen. Probably not on camera because it's over an hour long - but if ever you wanna figure out some more about her as a person, that interview is chock full of introspection and extremely mature reflections about the world which i found truly inspiring. Anyways, thanks for answering my long-winded rants and a good evening to you !

@@fyrenoftelios767 that is so cool!! Makes sense. The word telios sounds familiar somehow. Thank you for the ideas. I actually want to check out some interviews of different people as some point to provide possible additional videos so that’s a good idea :) thank you

Oddly enough, I don't think there is a music video for It Happened Quiet. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. This is arguably her best recorded performance of it, but as with all songs Aurora, she has interpreted it many ways. Just none "officially." I have always thought this to be about domestic violence, and possibly murder ("I will return from the shadows."). Aurora has so many dark lyrics in her songs. Not all for sure, but she is a queen of darkness, floated over to you in a way that makes you dream that darkness could go on forever. Meanwhile, her music and her voice carry you to mystical lands of beauty. Such an enigma. More like her, please.

Great reaction! I'd note another time she puts a lot of power in while starting light and wispy is "don't you speak over MY VOICE"... she appears meek and gentle, but she's got a warrior spirit for sure. I know enough to not speak over her voice, when she says it like THAT! My interpretation is that this could be a continuation of Murder 54321 or it could be a song about "innocence lost", virginity wise... or perhaps, though I shudder to think, a more awful violation. I like your interpretation more though, it's much nicer!!!

Thank you, I like your reactions, you get AURORA'S gift. A singer I also that acknowledges that seeing AURORA's Runaway helped inspire her to want to share her gifts too, Billie EIlish. Billie's 'Everybody Dies' on Howard Stern. Somewhat dark song but her vocal talent shines thru,.,,, and she had a cold during the performance! Thank you again, AURORA is a world treasure...

I can't stop watching your reactions. You make this feel like home. It's very therapeutic. This song was perfect for ending tonight in peace. I've never seen someone so obviously allowing music and lyrics to just flow through their body as she does. She's more than an artist. She's a vessel and is truly one with her songs. You see her snap back into consciousness when the songs end. It's just stunning to watch. Thank you for this place of healing and music. You truly don't know what you're providing for the world. Blessings to you.❤

@@rosalieelliottofficial have you seen her Tiny Desk concert? that's probably the best and most current. if not she has many other good videos. There is Evergreen, filmed in a Church she used to go to. the song is written for her late mom who she lost to suicide, actually a week or so after doing that my mind performance. There's also Gravity (john mayer) covered by Yebba and Clark Beckham. Theres October sky a really nice song. just throwing out a few ideas.

Rosalie that was a great reaction. You have more to say that's relevant than most reactors. I usually learn something new from you every time. To make our watch "more balanced" however, you take up most of the screen and the little clip is down in the corner. Consider maybe moving more to your left (my right) so the complete video is easier to watch and absorb. Near 40% of screen space is lost at the moment.👍🏻💖

I just discovered your channel a couple days ago but I've enjoyed your reactions and your musical journey. I haven't gone through the hundreds of comments, but I'm sure someone by now has suggested you check out Aurora guest singing with Wardruna. I highly suggest it as well! While you're in that part of your world journey, you should also give Heilung a listen. Perhaps one of their new songs like Anoana, but you can't go wrong with any of them!

Very nice reaction🤗 This is a beautiful song, but with very sad lyrics. It’s inspired by domestic violence, possibly rape but most certainly murder😥 “‘It Happened Quiet’ and ‘Churchyard’ - which is about someone that is stronger… a grown up with a child, a teacher with a student - someone that takes advantage of their power and uses it in the wrong way. It’s inspired by domestic violence.” AURORA “In my more delusional stories like ‘It Happened Quiet’ and ‘Churchyard’, the victim comes back to haunt the one that hurt them.” AURORA Could you please react to: “All is soft inside” live at KEXP Iceland 2018🙏😍 Aurora with some energy 👍

The song is a story about a love so wild and dark, about someone killing their lover, throwning them out a window and landing and bleeding on a meadow. Its the second song that shes created about a relationship where one murders the other

I was lucky enough to see her live in the uk in april 22, after following her for about 4 years ,10 feet from the stage her performance washed over me like a wave of water ! she sang this live and was a trully beautifull experience.i was left speachless and emotional at the end of the night. It was like being under a spell from the fairy queen of the woodland realm and yes im one of the warriors

Great reaction. :) Aurora is amazing. I'm for the first time on your channel. Can I recommend some artist in comment or you not doing reactions to requests from comments? I don't know, so... I see you have big knowledge, soI really want to hear your opinion about one of my favourite artists, her stage name is Kokia, she is japanese artist, most her songs are in japanese, but she singing also in english, italian, french, irish, she has classical and operatic music education, but only in few songs she singing more operatic, it's not her standard style to sing. If you can, please react to her song "Gematria" live from Layers ~Lights and Shadows~ concert 2016, it's not only amazing performance, but this song is absolutely incredible, there are many backing vocals, all recorded by her, incredible harmony, and lyrics are in not existing language created by her for this one song, because like she said, emotions are the same in all languages. :) It's even hard to explain this song, how it sounds, what genre it is, you just must hear it to understand, something incredible. Kokia also has big vocal range, in this song you can hear very high and low notes and different voices she can use, some like high, bright and sweet head voice, also different head voice, very beautiful, to chest voice, beautiful and warm, sometimes really dark, she is just amazing. And she is in song, her full body moving in such beautiful way, especially her hands, she always showing with her hands what she singing, it looks very beautiful and gentle. Please, if you can, react to her, I really want to hear opinion about her vocal from professional, but Kokia is not that much popular and almost no one want to react to her, especially on channels by singers or vocal coaches... Please, if you can.
