@@rolfjohansen5376: Not really. According to Wikipedia she was born in Stavanger, but lived in a small village, Høle then moved to a house in the woods "near" Bergen, in the Os mountains. So those towns are given to give an idea of where to place her on the map, but she didn't live in either city. Apparently she had a very free childhood in the countryside.

The first couple of times I heard Aurora, I thought "meh." I was wrong! So wrong! She is so disinhibiting for me. I am always holding tension in my body, battling chronic illness and feel anxious a lot. When I listen and watch Aurora, I melt. She soothes my whole body and mind. AURORA, is a Norwegian singer and songwriter.(From the same country as Angelina Jordan). Among artists and in the music industry the Norwegian singer AURORA is synonymous with quality, and she can fill a record with masterpieces time and time again. Everything you see of her is real. The way she appears, she is also private. She does not pretend, is thoroughly honest. Highly talented. She started making music when she was 6 years old. Completed her first song when she was 9 years old. It is balm for the soul. You should prefer to watch her live performance. Aurora is everybody's favourite Viking Singer Songwriter. Champion for all introverts. I've not heard her sing a bum song. I have her albums and listen to everything of hers that I can. She seems to embody a naturalness and gentleness. She always comes across as a sensitive and reserved person but with a hint of playfulness. Her songs are powerful, sometimes dark, Her voice shines especially when she harmonises with Silja Sol, (as here). to those of us who have found her she's phenomenal. Remarkably accurate what you intuitively gathered about Aurora from her music. She literally grew up in a forest in the Lysefjord and draws inspiration from nature (The Seed, The River, Running with the Wolves and more). She is the embodiment of a forest nymph but writes powerful lyrics about social issues and the dark side of human nature as in It Happened Quiet and Murder Song. Bravo!

So glad you finally got around to Aurora. Get ready for the fans (warriors and wierdos) entering your channel and spreading love. (I was here already). I want to see you react to ALL her music. But since that may be too much, I have a suggestion: Invite Henry over and get comfortable. Then watch the entire show Aurora did in Nidarosdomen. It is the cathedral in Trondhejm. It is just under one hour and it is a christmas concert. Most other reactors don't really understand the setting "why is she in a church?", but you guys will understand, since it is at very typical nordic style christmas concert. You have probably sung in a similar setting, I would guess. And it is so very very wonderful... Love you back.

Aurora's voice is so beautiful and gentle as you say, and has such an ethereal quality. My first listen gave me this very peaceful feeling, but I listened to another reactor who looked up the lyrics beforehand and commented on them, as well as the technique she uses. I suggest you Google the lyrics. If you do and read them, it becomes clear that this is rather a dark, disturbing song that is belied by her gentle treatment of it, and notice the expressions on her face. When she sings "love is wild," it isn't a good, giddy kind of wild, but she seems to be conveying a lot of pain. A tale of some kind of dysnfrunctional relationship. The "earth colored red" gives that idea of some kind of violence too. But she still sees herself fallng like a flower on the meadow, where it seems safer. Also the rock ground into sand is another hard image. Her voice does take me out of myself to a peaceful, mystical realm. It would be wonderful music to mediate too. I understand Aurora did one of the songs for Frozen. She is from Norway, I think. Thanks for your reaction!

I LOVE that you have now discovered Aurora... my favourite artist! In a different way to Dimash of course. She has been writing her own music since she was 6. Writing lyrics (absolute poetry) since she was 9. And has been co-producing all her music for a long while now. She refuses to compromise on her art. She has so much music to discover and has a few different styles. Please continue reacting to her. You will not be disappointed. She is Norwegian. I highly recommend Through the Eyes of A Child either live at Nidarosdomen or at VEVO UK lift (Stripped). Very different versions of the same song. One with an orchestra and one is accapella. Lovely reaction, the first of many I hope. :) Her backup singer (at times co-singer one might say) is Silja Sol... an award winning singer/songwriter herself. Just one thing, it sounds like the audio is slightly sped up when you compare it to the Current version. Almost like the old PAL pitched DVDs, if you remember those (made everyone sound slightly chipmunk-y). Not a big deal, but I’m sure it’s possible to fix it in the editing, or capture tool, settings. Aurora is delicate, deep, sweet, very expressive, emotional and performative and adorable. Despite the different style of music, her style reminds me of Kate Bush in her early career. In fact, the two approached the same theme and made two beautiful songs about "seeing the world through the eyes of a child". Kate Bush with: The man whit child in hisc eyes, and Aurora with: Throught eyes of a child. They are truly two wonderful divas.

Aurora is the total package - singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, producer/arranger, choreographer, and an absolutely lovely human being (and she’s just 24 years old!). I really like your first reaction to Aurora, she has been close to my heart right from when she entered the public scene. You've got plenty of suggestions below, I recommend you start with Runaway, the video, or live from 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert. Please also know that her videos and performances are VERY varied, from the softest you just reacted to, to some intense funky and quite contemporary stuff. From soft solo pieces to a full philharmonic orchestra she excels. Also she is a metal head, plays the harp, great dancer, direct most of her videos, produces, arranges her music and is very fun in interviews.
