You can see the harmonics on the last 1/2 of the 2nd white cup... Every 6or7 even spaced lines is followed by a group of 3 closer together, then repeats over... Goota be something in the natural physics w timing and force to produce that. Fascinating!

At first I just saw the finished picture and I thought it was string art. That was amazing to watch. It seems like a simplistic way to paint. Although I'm sure that a lot could have gone wrong. Didn't really like the red paint though. Thought it looked better with just the silver and black. The red would probably look good on it's own on either black or white background.

I've seen this technique before and absolutely love it!! I wanted so to try it but hesitated because the one other vid I saw made it look really hard to stop the pendulum without getting paint every - he just grabbed it and plugged it with his finger - too chancy for me my first time out. Your solution is so simple and 99% no fail (give or take). Why didn't I think of that? Thanks for your brilliant simplicity. The painting is beautiful. Beautiful work, one thing I can suggest is to fill the cup with different colors, one of top of the other (same cup) so the end result would be a multicolored piece.
