Do you need to push the pin back in when you need to take it apart to put a new battery in?

The pin will go back in if you had to take it back apart. Just have the key in open position.

Use a heat gun on low or blow dryer on the transponder chip to loosen the adhesive. Will make cutting it out much easier. Go easy on the heat don't want to fry your chip

Getting the transponder out of the OE key sucked! It took me almost 30min to finally get it.

Just got my flip fob for my 4Runner. Started assembling it 3 hours ago and still having issues getting it all together right. Had to give up and try again later. Hopefully they come out with a V2 that is easier

Bought one of these from TACOMABEAST last Decmber 2020 and it is missing the stainless hardware(screws) I did reach out from them but did not get a response from them. so decided to return the item.. for $70 and missing the hardware is disapointing because the quality assurance or the guy who packed the item never check the items..

i got stopped by TSA and had my bags searched cause it looks like a switchblade on an x-ray, machine. just saying, don't bury your keys in your backpack when going through security.

Cutting out the transponder is a joke. Just destroy the casing, don’t pussyfoot around it. -Sage advice, authored while my sainted wife drives me to the ER after slicing my hand open while removing a transponder.

Your out of your mind. SEVENTY DOLLARS for an empty shell then i have to get my key ground. The minimalist fob for the smart key is already a bit ridiculous at $30 but over twice that for a flip out key???

@@Ranger_k16 I was on the drop just think it's over priced for what you get. Overall well designed and all but don't see the value of $70 in it for the general market. Still missed some points in terms of design for me but that just because of my design background.
