@@ac8907I think, but don't know for sure, that he said the stories about Jesus don't fulfil the traditional Jewish predictions about the messiah/hamoshiach. Some examples are: it's supposed to be after the 3rd temple is built & swords will be beaten into plowshares. Neither of those things happened during or after Jesus' times. Then there are concepts in Christianity that don't exist in Judaism. In Judaism the messiah doesn't save anyone from hell. Hell isn't discussed much in Judaism. The teachings are; just be as good a person as you can, & don't worry about it. The messiah isn't a divine being in Judaism; a great leader; but not divine. Those two bits matter a lot in most Christian sects; that Jesus is divine & saves believers from hell. Completely missing in the Jewish concept of the messiah. What religious Jews do believe is that once the messiah comes humanity will grow up & we will all be nice to each other & good to our planet. Judaism 100% focuses on living here & now as best you can (responsibly & morally) & don't fuss about what comes after. I think this is one of many reasons Judaism lasted so long. There is a deep teaching that life is a mix of laughter & tears; so don't forget the tears in times of laughter, & don't forget the laughter in times of tears; practical & spiritual at the same time. Does that help?

@@ac8907I don't think I gave a clear answer the first time . . . . He said the predictions in Torah of what the messiah will be 1) don't fit with Jesus' lifer & 2) Christian ideas about the messiah are real different from Jewish ideas about him, & I think he advised missionaries not to use Torah to try to convert Jews because it won't work. It won't work because of reasons I just mentioned. He brought up Talmud, I think, because you can find clashing opinions about Torah, in Talmud. Some of the arguments in Talmud were from wise sages, & some were from real jerks; so cherry picking the Talmud is kind of easy to do. What I said before has validity (to me) but this is better because it's simpler.

@@ac8907I can't remember exactly what I wrote, but it was predictions in Torah, about the messiah, which Jesus did not fulfill. Clearly I offended someone. Here are a couple of them. Torah says swords will be beaten into plowshares. 100% this did not happen during or after Jesus life. Torah says the messiah comes during or after the building of the third temple. Not only did this not happen, but the 2nd temple stood while Jesus was alive. The second temple got destroyed 70 years after Jesus' death, during the 2nd Roman conquest. Two historical predictions from Torah that didn't come true. Therefore, according to Torah, Jesus cannot be the messiah. There are other predictions like these, but they are subtler & take too long to explain.

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. My entire paradigm formed from an early around Christianity, and everything that goes with it. Simultaneously, I have been living in the world, collecting whatever experience in it, regardless of expectation. That is to say, after all I have said and done, reality remains: it is what it is. In the end, it seems of great importance to search these things out to the best of your ability, regardless (but not in spite of) what has been established by others. The Jews have got a real handle on this issue as each of them have been steeped from the beginning of their understanding in these issues established by God and his prophets. I say this because most Christians accept something somewhat hand fashioned and placed on a platter in front of them. If even a few of them actually READ the old testament, their eyes would see. Just think about that for a moment. NONE of them are privy to real truth in any firsthand sense, revealing the fact they have shunned God, or don't actually care as much as they'd like to believe. This lazy brain approach to God seems unconscionable. Tovia, when I listen to you my heart is easily open, and the sense you bring to these issues is a salve to my weary heart. Thank you for helping me to discover the mighty and yet truly merciful nature of God. To me, a gentile, lost in a sea of False Authenticity you truly bring good and reassuring news in your messages, and you make it possible for me to truly have actual gratefulness and praise toward Him. I just want you to know there are those of us out here who are suffering but are open, and only waiting to hear. When I share the light of Christ, it is to share the goodness I have experienced to another. I'm not salivating over the opportunity to convert people for the sake of it, I'm just trying to show them the joy I have. Also, we don't think the ends justify the means. While we have the end of turning people to Christ, we still don't force it upon people and use corrupt ends for this goal. This comes from the perspective of someone that has talked to non-Christians and knows missionaries and evangelicals. This video shows a flawed depiction of Christian missionaries as we speak to the heart from love instead of citing the Talmud.

@@gracesalva8428 Honest question: if Jews were meant to convert to Christians, why wouldn't God have made it much more obvious to them? 🤔

@@russrussel3947 No! Jesus was send from the Father to us sinners to save us/humans, whoever believe in Him will have eveylasting life, He was clear. The problem is in deceitfulness of human heart! Jeremiah 17:9-10 "The heart is deceitful above all things, And [a]desperately wicked; Who can know it? 10 I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings."

@gracesalva8428 The Christian's bibles are just very badly mistranslated and corrupted versions of the Torah/Tanach (The Real Word of G_d) with a lot changed including names, a whole lot added, and a whole lot taken out. Everything that G_d said not to do, Christianity did! Christianity lies! NO Hebrew/Jew was ever named Jesus, nor John, nor especially James. There is no letter J in the Hebrew alephbet nor does any of the Hebrew letters even make a J sound. Try actually reading the scriptures where G_d gave the Torah and the Commandments to Mosche and the Children/Nation of Israel on Mt. Sinai. G_d specifically told them in no uncertain terms that neither they nor any of their descendents all through time are to Never veer to the right nor left of the Torah/Tanach! Never!!! Do you understand what that means? G_d also told them in no uncertain terms that neither they nor any of their descendents all through time are to Never accept anybody else's religion! Never!!! Do you understand what that means? The One True Creator G_d also warned not to add to, nor subtract from the Torah/Tanach, but Christianity did it anyway. Christianity adopted way too many idolatrous and pagan beliefs contrary to what The One True Creator G_d actually said. The Tenakh was written first so wouldn’t it be the other way around, the NT contradicts the Tenakh? The NT was added to the Tenakh to give it instant credibility. The NT should be a separate book because the God of the NT can’t get his facts straight. There’s so many errors in the NT that it’s clearly not divinely inspired.

What is left to say about this subject? Moses said it best, stiffed-necked people. Jesus plainly said, do as they say, not as they do. That generation saw it all, the sacking of Jerusalem, the temple taken apart brick by brick, I dont know how many were led away to the corners of the Roman empire and so much more. And this is what? 2,100, 2,200 years ago? Jesus also said he was there for the Jew not the Gentile.

The explanation you give about the sin-offering of Moshiach still is insufficient, since it requires ongoing suspension of halacha, as a chattas can't be offered except for the circumstances described in Leviticus. The Rambam gives the explanation that the sacrifices described in Ezekiel are part of the dedication of the 3rd temple (which go on much longer than previous dedication sacrifices) and are not included in the general rules of Leviticus, just as there were special, unique sacrifices at the dedication of the Mishkan and the first and second Temples, including "sin-offerings" that are not for any sin. Unique, temporary suspension of halacha under the direction of a prophet is part of halacha. Sorry, I don't remember right now where in Mishneh Torah the Rambam says this, but he does say it there as a halachic ruling.
@mertonhirsch47346 ай бұрын
Was the Passover Lamb a sin offering? Jesus death was not substitutionary (theologically/hypothetically speaking). It was mechanistic. He created a Passover/path from death to life by taking mortal flesh into death, so he took the place that mortals go in death, but he didn't replace them. Nobody ever talks about the Passover lambs being an appeasing sacrifice to Hashem so he wouldn't kill his people for their sins, but it was a mechanism of causing death to pass over those who made the sacrifice.

Jesus is the messiah. It;s been 2000 years and by then, any prophecy that is supposed to be fulfilled by the messiah should've already come to pass, yet we dont see any other person claiming to the the messiah or actually being close to what Jesus has done. The mere fact that 2000 years has passed is telling enough that you Jews are wrong and the very reason Christianity is true is because we trace our whole religion back to the Jews.

I think just like Paul who knew the Torah by heart, it's only the Holy Spirit or Jesus/Yeshua Himself who could make Jews to believe in Him. Just as what's happening with some Muslims, who are sincere in their belief in God, and are afraid of entertaining ideas than what they were taught for fear of sinning against Him. And Jesus Himself had to show Himself in their dreams, for those Muslims to believe in Him according to the gospel. I realized there are two kinds of stubborn believers. Those who fully trust in God and thus in His word, and the other one is one who so trust in his own understanding of God's word. The first one has a greater chance of receiving correction from God, and the later has a very slim chance of receiving correction, for how will he, when he believes in himself that he is right? Let's just pray for the Jews and for us, that God in His mercy will lead us and keep us in His truth, for He alone knows what is the truth.

7 Now the high priest said, “Are these things so?” 2 And [a]Stephen said, “Listen to me, [b]brothers and fathers! The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in [c]Haran, 3 and He said to him, ‘Go from your country and your relatives, and come to the land which I will show you.’ 4 Then he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in [d]Haran. And from there, after his father died, God had him move to this country in which you are now living. 5 But He gave him no inheritance in it, not even a foot of ground, and yet, He promised that He would give it to him as a possession, and to his descendants after him, even though he had no child. 6 But God spoke to this effect, that his descendants would be strangers in a land that was not theirs, and [e]they would enslave and mistreat them for four hundred years. 7 ‘And whatever nation to which they are enslaved I Myself will judge,’ said God, ‘and after that they will come out and [f]serve Me in this place.’ 8 And He gave him [g]the covenant of circumcision; and so Abraham fathered Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighth day; and Isaac fathered Jacob, and Jacob, the twelve patriarchs. 9 “The patriarchs became jealous of Joseph and sold him into Egypt. Yet God was with him, 10 and rescued him from all his afflictions, and granted him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he made him governor over Egypt and his entire household. 11 “Now a famine came over all Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction with it, and our fathers [h]could find no food. 12 But when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent our fathers there the first time. 13 And on the second visit, Joseph [i]made himself known to his brothers, and Joseph’s family was revealed to Pharaoh. 14 Then Joseph sent word and invited his father Jacob and all his relatives to come to him, seventy-five [j]people in all. 15 And Jacob went down to Egypt, and he and our fathers died there. 16 And they were brought back from there to [k]Shechem and laid in the tomb which Abraham had purchased for a sum of money from the sons of [l]Hamor in [m]Shechem. 17 “But as the time of the promise which God had assured to Abraham was approaching, the people increased and multiplied in Egypt, 18 until another king arose over Egypt who did not know Joseph. 19 It was he who shrewdly took advantage of our nation and mistreated our fathers in order that they would abandon their infants in the Nile, so that they would not survive. 20 At this time Moses was born; and he was beautiful to God. He was nurtured for three months in his father’s home. 21 And after he had been put outside, Pharaoh’s daughter [n]took him away and nurtured him as her own son. 22 Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was proficient in [o]speaking and action. 23 But when he was approaching the age of forty, it entered his [p]mind to visit his countrymen, the sons of Israel. 24 And when he saw one of them being treated unjustly, he defended and took vengeance for the oppressed man by fatally striking the Egyptian. 25 And he thought that his brothers understood that God was granting them [q]deliverance [r]through him; but they did not understand. 26 And on the following day he appeared to them as they were fighting each other, and he tried to reconcile them to peace, by saying, ‘Men, you are brothers, why are you injuring each other?’ 27 But the one who was injuring his neighbor pushed him away, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and judge over us? 28 You do not intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday, do you?’ 29 At this remark, Moses fled and became a stranger in the land of [s]Midian, where he fathered two sons. 30 “After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in the flame of a burning thorn bush. 31 When Moses saw it, he was astonished at the sight; and as he approached to look more closely, the voice of the Lord came: 32 ‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob.’ Moses shook with fear and did not dare to look closely. 33 But the Lord said to him, ‘[t]Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground. 34 I have certainly seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their groaning, and I have come down to rescue them; and now come, I will send you to Egypt.’ 35 “This Moses whom they disowned, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ is the one whom God [u]sent to be both a ruler and a deliverer with the [v]help of the angel who appeared to him in the thorn bush. 36 This man led them out, performing wonders and [w]signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years. 37 This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, ‘God will raise up for you a prophet [x]like me from your countrymen.’ 38 This is the one who was in the [y]assembly in the wilderness together with the angel who spoke to him at length on Mount Sinai, and who was with our fathers; and he received living words to pass on to you. 39 Our fathers were unwilling to be obedient to him; on the contrary they rejected him and turned back to Egypt in their hearts, 40 saying to Aaron, ‘Make us [z]a god who will go before us; for this Moses who led us out of the land of Egypt-we do not know what happened to him.’ 41 [aa]At that time they made a [ab]calf and brought a sacrifice to the idol, and were rejoicing in the works of their hands. 42 But God turned away and gave them over to [ac]serve the heavenly [ad]lights; as it is written in the book of the prophets: ‘You did not offer Me victims and sacrifices for forty years in the wilderness, did you, house of Israel? 43 You also took along the tabernacle of Moloch and the star of your god [ae]Rompha, the images which you made to worship. I also will deport you beyond Babylon.’ 44 “Our fathers had the tabernacle of testimony in the wilderness, just as He who spoke to Moses directed him to make it according to the pattern which he had seen. 45 Our fathers in turn received it, and they also brought it in with Joshua upon dispossessing the [af]nations that God drove out from our fathers, until the time of David. 46 [ag]David found favor in God’s sight, and asked that he might [ah]find a dwelling place for the [ai]house of Jacob. 47 But it was Solomon who built a house for Him. 48 However, the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands; as the prophet says: 49 ‘Heaven is My throne, And the earth is the footstool of My feet; What kind of house will you build for Me?’ says the Lord, ‘Or what place is there for My rest? 50 Was it not My hand that made all these things?’ 51 “You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did. 52 Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They killed those who had previously announced the coming of the Righteous One, and you have now become betrayers and murderers of Him; 53 you who received the Law as ordained by angels, and yet did not keep it.”

I think there's some confusion as to what being a Jew is as opposed to what is Judaism. My understanding is that Judaism is a specific religious belief/practice and Jewish is an ethnicity. You use the two interchangeably. At any rate, Religion has hurt me much more than helped me. I do best when I think like an atheist, not being an atheist. That way I am less likely to be manipulated by religious dogma (which we are all susceptible to). But thank you, I like your inclusive mindset. @@Komodo8215

I already believe that God exists. I don't need to be instructed as to how to treat my neighbor. That's not hard to figure out. If that's all the Torah does....... And why on earth would I want to subject myself to all of these dietary and ceremonial rules? How does that cause one to treat their neighbor well?

It’s sad when men talk about their gods and converting men because it shows that they don’t know God. Look at the prophets experiences with Hashem. There wasn’t some imaginary god there. They had a relationship with a real being and it wasn’t only through what they read. When they spoke He listened and moved. King Saul was told he was going to come to a company of prophets and be changed into another man and it happened. When King David played it wasn’t an instrument that calmed King Saul. It was the Spirit of God. You can play missionary all you want. If God isn’t there you read Moses but learn nothing from him. If you make up in your mind that you somehow have the Spirit of God because you’re a Jew and look past all of the evidence that that’s not how it works you deceive yourself and everyone who listens to you. It was a man named Naaman who sought the Lord and was blessed by His Spirit after the pattern of Israel in Egypt. And everyone who sincerely calls on the Lord is brought near to Him. He doesn’t turn men away regardless of the nation they’re from (1 Kings 8:41-43). I shared how I’ve felt the Lord wash me. That’s also in 1 Kings 8:35 that the land would produce fruit from drinking from the Lord. That His people would be satisfied with Him. You seek converts but God seeks a family to have relationship and love and friendship. You know words but the God of them sees how far away from Him you are.

Sorry but my whole family converted to Christianity because Jesus Himself came to us to bring us closer to Him. The proof is in His works in our lives, it wasnt smoke and mirrors or magic tricks, we hadnt even picked up a Bible let alone read it. It was after He revealed Himself to some of us that our journey with Him began. Perhaps one day you and those like you who mock believers of Jesus Christ The Son of God, will realize The Truth before it's too late.

Rabbi, as a Messianic Jew, I would say that many of us do not turn to the sages or other rabbinic texts to express our faith in Yeshua. In my experience, I have only seen fellow Messianics quote from the Hebrew Bible. The Tenakh is just as sacred and beloved to us as it is to you. I would also bring up the point that we do not “convert” individuals of any group, Jewish or otherwise. We share with them the truth of the good news, the Besorah. Those individuals then choose whether or not to convert their own hearts to the truth of G-d’s plan of redemption because HaShem clearly enacts free will and not pre-destination. I hope that one day Messianic Jews and other religious Jews can at least have a more loving, and harmonious understanding of one another. We love our people and only want to share our faith for their well-being. No scam, no underhanded mischief. Just the love of HaShem.

I know that you’ve probably heard all the talking points before because you’re on this channel like I am and you’re passionate about the G-d of Israel, but my answer to that would be that G-d absolutely needs to enact a demonstration of His wrath due to our willful depravity and turning away from Him. To me it does not matter if the sins that were put upon the sacrificial animals were based on intentional sin or unintentional sin. Sin is sin. And while the sacrifices played an essential role in the covenant of HaShem’s chosen people, the altar also pointed toward a more ultimate sacrifice of the absolutely perfect, unblemished lamb, Yeshua. G-d came down to accept wrath upon Himself. He did not do it to a “man” as a “human sacrifice” as Rabbi Singer often states. Without this action, at least from my perspective, his holiness cannot truly be demonstrated and we cannot truly come to grips with our depravity and our need to humble ourselves before Him. And just so I am being transparent-knowing that the counter-missionary Rabbis, despite my love for them and genuine enjoyment of their teachings, are always accusing Believers in Yeshua of being disingenuous-I was raised in the Church as a born-again Christian. In my early 20s, I joined a messianic synagogue and began to keep Torah with all my heart, knowing that it is Abba’s commandments to His people. Thus, I do not consider myself Christian, but a Jew who follows the One who I believe to be Meshiach. You can have the final word and I am open minded. Or you don’t have to reply. Either way, thank you for dialogue and Shalom.

Salvation and the True Israel: Embracing God's Elect in Christ. The doctrine of salvation within biblical theology is deeply rooted in the sovereignty of God and the centrality of Christ's atonement. The statement "All Israel will be saved," as mentioned in Romans 11:26, means that salvation is not confined to ethnic Israel but extends to all of God's elect, encompassing both Jews and Gentiles. The Apostle Paul clarifies in Romans 9:6-8 that not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. This distinction between physical descent and spiritual belonging indicates that the true Israel includes all who are united to Christ by faith. This union with Christ is further emphasized in Galatians 3:28-29, where Paul states, "There is neither Jew nor Greek... for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise." The exclusivity of Christ for salvation is unequivocally affirmed in the New Testament. John 14:6 declares, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" This verse underscores the necessity of faith in Jesus for salvation, leaving no room for ambiguity regarding the fate of those who reject Him-be they Jew or Gentile. In conclusion, biblical theology holds that the phrase "All Israel will be saved" refers to the spiritual Israel of God's elect. This includes all who have been granted faith in Jesus Christ, the fulfillment of all Old Testament promises. Without Christ, individuals face eternal separation from God, regardless of their ethnic or religious background. As 2 Corinthians 1:20 affirms, "For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes. Therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us." This encapsulates the essence of God's redemptive plan, which is fulfilled in Christ and accessible to all who believe, to the glory of God.

"The 53rd chapter of Isaiah is a beautiful, poetic song, one of the four “Servant Songs” in which the prophet describes the climactic period of world history when the Messiah will arrive and the Jewish people assume the role as the spiritual leaders of humanity. Isaiah 53 is a prophecy foretelling how the world will react when they witness Israel's salvation in the Messianic era. The verses are presented from the perspective of world leaders, who contrast their former scornful attitude toward the Jews with their new realization of Israel's grandeur. After realizing how unfairly they treated the Jewish people, they will be shocked and speechless. While the original Hebrew text clearly refers to the Jewish people as the “Suffering Servant,” over the centuries Isaiah 53 has become a cornerstone of the Christian claim that Jesus is the Messiah. Unfortunately, this claim is based on widespread mistranslations and distortion of context." Isaiah 53: The Suffering Servant
