MESSAGE FOR THE NEW YEAR | You Are Not Alone

We wanted to make a New Year's Message for you, but debated what the tone should be. We wanted to do more than raise a glass and say a simple "Happy New Year!!"... From heartfelt messages (but also through comments that have been unkind) we know that many viewers around the world are having a hard time. So we wanted to take a moment to speak to you from the heart. But this is difficult because our culture sees to shun topics that aren't wholly positive.
Our business, personal and artistic interests are so much about beauty and fantasy - the ethereal. What may seem frivolous and inessential is for us a way of making the harshness of our surroundings softer and sweeter. Dancing or dressing up, artworks, writing, decoration and cooking are all ways of taking control of a world that is full of wonder, love and beauty but one that can also be harsh and unfair.
In the coming year we hope to share much more of the sweeter side of our lives with you.
However, because we want to support others who share our same values, we wanted to let you know where we stand on the hard stuff.

Why do people think that people alone are lonely? I’m alone by choice and living my best life. Happiness comes from within. It has to be there first, it’s not another’s responsibility to make someone else happy. It’s my goal to spread my happiness by being kind, compassionate, and accepting of people where they are in their life journey.

So indeed showing compassion towards people who are perhaps alone (even sometimes while with others) is a great gift to share.

@@sugarmmmp no, and no. When the student is ready the teacher will appear. Sadly, we cannot show someone how to find happiness. It starts with self love. If one is not able to love ones self we can only make suggestions to help them. I can love them with every fiber of my being but if they do not love themselves it’s not going to help them.

@@creative227 Absolutely 100% when the student is ready the teacher appears. Showing compassion is not trying to push any love on anyone. Compassion is your ability to experience others' feelings - from joy to sorrow - with a desire to help. Not only does compassion decrease suffering by helping those in need, but also it can boost your bond with others. It is not trying to teach them anything but rather to simply be. Perhaps I misunderstood your intentions.

@@sugarmmmp All one can do to assist the wounded, lonely or depressed is to help them overcome their fear/insecurity. If someone is not able or ready then one must accept that they are not helping and move along. Some people need the crutch of victimization as an excuse to not try and some are not yet able to, etc. No one should sacrifice their own purpose or destiny for another out of compassion because it never ends well.

I've been struggling with a debilitating health issue for over a year, without an answer, and watched my self-sufficiency drain away. I spend most of my time now alone, taking the distraction, the escape of these vlogs, and I don't know if the life I had will ever materialize again. My kids knew to say "happier New Year" than what I've had in 2020 and 2021. I appreciate your message. You're right: we're out here trying to hang on.

This was such a lovely message. SO many KZbin content providers want to provide an "escape" but that can be difficult to watch after awhile when it makes their lives look perfect and ours look so much less than perfect, (and it gets boring too). I know exactly what Tatiana is talking about. I get it. I'm the one who got in a car accident in "happy land" France remember? The curtain was pulled back on "Oz". I could have used some more support when I was there, for sure, but you and Selmar were wonderful. This was beautiful. Thank you. I lost my daughter unexpectedly in May 2020 a week after she turned 20 and I am struggling as I miss her so much. She is my third child that I've lost and no one understands. I act like I am doing ok but I have never felt so alone. I have a couple of friends who get it but most don't as they simply can't go there, so they accept what I say when I say I'm fine and move on. It's even hard to put it into words how I feel. I used to join in on the Lalande chats but now I just watch as the joy is gone from my life. I'm hoping I can find it again. I get great solace from music which at least gives me some respite from my thoughts and memories. My daughter's death should never have happened. She was in a place of safety surrounded by professionals 24/7 and still she died and 7 months on I still have no answers. There is an investigation going on. I have to wait for coroner's reports, toxicology reports, forensic reports and there will be an inquest but not for 18-24 months. It's the not knowing that is killing me as I think it will be negligence. Sorry to offload but your words helped me to open up as it is so true that not everyone is having a great time even though we sometimes pretend we're ok.

My adoration level for Tatiana just soared upward! Made me think of a robotic call I got yesterday . I was having a horrible day… awful… got a recorded call saying, “Hi , this is (blah blah), and how are YOU today?” I didn’t say a word, and after a pause, it said, “Great!! So glad to hear that!” Then it went on to a sales pitch as I hung up. It just struck me as a horribly rude recording!!! I wish you the best 2022, and hope you’re chateau dreams come true! Happy New Year. I spent New Year Eve "alone" watching a TV series called All that Glitters, a jewellery designer competition. The designers were so kind and supportive of each other. I had 2 large Gin and Tonics, kissed my cat and went to bed. For 6 years I lived in my mother's basement which I refer to as the "dungeon", a large and dark room fill of things I was accumulating for the day I bought and moved into my own property at 56 years old (I had been married and owned properties over 20 years ago). I wore old clothes, some clothes had holes, and I still wore em. WELL New Year Day, I wore a brand new tee shirt, brand new shorts and brand new smalls, I went online and bought new clothes to fit my very overweight body - I wanted to feel comfortable and fresh and new. When I moved into my 2 bed place I had a Feng Shui consultant come in to identify areas where there would be a drain on areas that I needed to protect and grow. I did a cleaning ritual, clean my place and take all rubbish out of the house, cos I did not want to go into New Year with rubbish. I like watching you both BUT for the New Year wishes my eye went to the broken dishes on the wall, whilst I can see its shabby chic and quirky . Thank you. I don't like to admit that I am having difficulty. I work in mental health, trying to buoy and inspire others. In my past I was depressed, but I found my way out of that. Now I am missing mt spouse who is away for an unknown time and I am having a heath issue. I can't ignore these or just do tasks to make them go away. Personally I spent xmas with my dog and it was ok, I feel that this end of year is a mountain, as I get nearer the top it's harder to breath but from there the view is great and the walk down into the valley of next year will be easier and who knows what will grow in that valley. It's easy to focus on the bad stuff but I have never chosen an easy path in life and difficulty forces me to be better and stonger and makes the result even more of value. There is an expression about cups half full but I am just so happy to even have a cup, full or empty as many do not. Sometimes more cracked than whole. But it changes all the time! But it is 'never impossible' when we hear of how many have made it! We take what we have where we are, and make it as perfectly like the dream we want and do not let the dream die. Just because we are not surrounded by the rich and famous and those with money, does not mean life cannot be fun and we cannot make our lives lovely!, and things look lovely Starting right here with what we have something to begin with, we are is most important and can achieve the grandest of all. We can change things a bit and do not do what others have done. We build on it. Stay strong together and you will achieve something very, very special and already have really! You have more today than yesterday, already! We all have something to be thankful for in the end even though it has been tough along the way! We never need to compete with anyone at all. We can be rich if we think rich, even if it is only in our minds. As humans "genetics " is very complex. You are so write! ...its extremely difficult to always have to pretend you are in a good place because friends, family sort of expect it! ...And if you show a side that you are not it's almost like they don't want to listen too that view! ...so you just pretend...so many including myself hide behind a mask and are actually extremely lonely and suffering mental health pretty bad! And are at home lonely and people probably think they are having a great time so don't contact them! I really think social media can be actually a lonely place because you see everyone happy and when you have illness or mental health..anxiety etc you are not involved in these activities because your body just won't allow it . This message was just perfect for everyone suffering because it allowed everyone suffering to realise that you are not on your own and to realise not everything you see is real ..because we can all wear a mask of happiness and yes we do that because that is what is expected of us ..and anything else other than that is often frowned upon. Honestly, I wish I could share in your optimism. I wish that hope for a better future is enough…. But my future gets blow up in my face just to hurt me. This whole thing with Jeffery and Andrew has devastated me to the point I don’t have a lot of trust in anything anymore. I grew up with the worst of humanity had to offer. I know how cruel and evil people truly are. And I have to live with that. I couldn’t live with that. I’ve spent my whole life trying to make things right so I could have a future. Just to admit the choice isn’t mine to make. I have to deal with people telling me where I can and can’t go. Who gets away with the horrible crimes they commit. I just couldn’t look the other way and pretend it’s not happening anymore. It never goes away. Maybe now that ghislane is in prison give me one small piece of relief. Knowing she can’t hurt anyone else. I’ve worked so hard make sure of that. There’s a whole list of people. And they all hate me. So I pay the price for that. With my future and my dreams. And because I had this stupid idea that I could save everyone from evil people like Andrew, now when this all comes out, I get publicly humiliated, or get frustrated because of the cover up. No I’m not in the best mental place right now. I have to deal with things so horrible you can’t unsee if I tried . Complex PTSD is hard to work through. Especially when the memories come flooding back. Especially the one when I was10. I got thrown out into the garage and slept in a box of clothes so I wouldn’t freeze to death. (Christmas night) After I got beat up really bad. I guess I should deal with how I feel about that. Especially knowing that my step father worked for Andrew. And was a school teacher. So now there’s all that…… I have to give up my anonymous life to be publicly humiliated as a human trafficking victim. And give up my pride to save all that come after me. It’s a lot to deal with and I don’t really care If anyone believes me, it is what it is. And people want to silence me. You two seem like really nice people. That was a nice heartfelt message. Hold on to what? A future that’s getting taken away from me. There’s no therapy that could make this better, or meds. I just have to deal with it no matter how overwhelming and horrible it gets and splitting off and wanting a new life isn’t an option. I can’t live with compartmented memory anymore. It’s tearing me apart. It helped me get through what I needed to , but now it works against me and I have a hard time controlling it. I’m sober now so maybe I’ll have a different perspective instead of trying to numb out the pain. But then I have to deal with my rage and hate. Being a whole person means more to me that a fractured disaster. That’s what I have to put back together. Happy new year to both of you and I wish you two many years of happiness together. I know I left a message on chateau diaries channel. It guess my pain came spilling out I just can’t watch that channel anymore because it’s breaking my heart. My life isn’t going to turn out the way I wanted and I have to accept that. I don’t get happily ever after….. It’s an illusion a dream and a nightmare rolled up like a turducken 🤪
