Monwabisi residents in Khayelitsha, Cape Town take action demanding the dignity of a flushing toilets after enduring dirty, untreated and overfilled chemical toilets for months under lockdown. The City of Cape Town's contract with the toilet's service provider, Mshengu, had expired leaving the chemical toilets unserviced for weeks. Ignoring the wishes of residents for flushing toilets, the City brokered a deal for new chemical toilet services. On 12 July Monwabisi residents took to protesting at 4am, their message was as follows.
