Excellent acting, and I applaud the show. That said, the import of the illustration regarding “children in the marketplace” was lost. This was the most pointed illustration Jesus ever used as it explained the motives of those who opposed him, the Jewish clergy. In the scene, “the children” of the market were improperly attributed and hence the point Jesus was making was lost in the scene. As well, John the Baptist did not have any doubts about Jesus. Rather, John was trying to motivate his disciples to leave him and to follow Jesus who was at that time “least one in the Kingdom of God”. John did what he did to remove himself from the picture as he had become a stumbling block for his remaining disciples. He needed them to move on. John said “I will go on decreasing and HE will go on increasing”. John confronted Herod knowing full well what would become of him. This is how committed John was to his God given role. Hence Jesus said John was greater than Moses, David… all of them.
