A little history lesson guys. Ecuador finished in 2nd place in the Qualifiers for the 2002 World Cup! Argentina was 1st, Ecuador 2nd and Brazil 3rd. So they've done this before!

I’ve said it for a long time, Ecuador is a top top team. Their defence is unbelievable and they know how to suffer. A really young, talented, athletic & physical team. With these players they can do great things in the next 2 WC’s & 2 Copa America’s.

Ecuador managing to win in Colombia despite an undeserved red card is quite the feat. The guy saying Colombia would’ve taken the lead must’ve not watched the game before the red card because Ecuador were playing well, controlling the game, creating chances. Wouldn’t have been as easy as they portray it.

Also, something else people fail to realize is the age of the Ecuadorian players, specially in our defense: Ordoñez 20 years old playing in Belgium 🇧🇪 and also in the Champions League, William Pacho 23 years old playing at PSG and the Champions League, Piero Hincapié 22 years old playing at Bayer Leverkusen and the Champions League, our starting 3 in defense are extremely young and already starters in top teams in Europe in their respective leagues…. Ordoñez is already being scouted by Liverpool and Chelsea, this means our defensive players have tremendous potential for growth….. on top of that you add Pervis Estupiñan 26 years olds at Brighton in the Premier League and his sub being Jhoanner Chávez 22 years old playing at RC Lens in the French league…. then right in front of them you have Moises Caicedo 23 years old at Chelsea and already wearing the Captains arm band with Enzo Maresca is crazy…. Then on the flanks attacking mid fields and strikers is a bit of a weakness, but we have Alan Minda 21 years old playing in Belgium, Gonzalo Plata 24 years old returning to form in Flamengo, John Yeboah 24 years old at Venice in Serie A now if you look to our younger players Kendry Páez next year will go to Chelsea at 18 years old and Justin Lerma 16 now, already acquired by Borussia Dortmund….. however in our U-20, U-17 and U-15 Ecuador has an abundance of talent in attacking positions, midfield and defense, this is to say that due to the young age of our current starting 11, once the kids that are coming through the ranks, the current players will be at the prime, between 28 and 32 years old….. people laugh and mock Ecuador 🇪🇨 thinking they can only win in the altitude in Quito, that is no longer true my friends.

You guys clearly didn’t watch the game lol and it shows. Ecuador outclassed Colombia the same way we outclassed Argentina in the copa America. Finally we’re getting recognition. Also Ecuador finally has world class defenders alongside possibly the best goalkeeper in South America currently, has a well balanced midfield and attacking wingers and an on form enner Valencia. Not to mention we finally have a coach! I hope our boys stay and shape and injury free. Vamos Ecuador 🇪🇨 hpppppp

For now we can only pray Valencia keeps this form and for Rodriguez to step up and stop being so greedy and to improve his finishing. Campana isn’t a bad choice but he slows down Ecuadors game plus he’s injury prone. But having inverted wingers that can switch to a 9 role isn’t a bad idea. Plata, Minda, Yeboah are great inside the box

They can laugh all they want. Chile debuted new players against Venezuela which changed the entire team and by March injured players will be back in rotation too. They beat Bolivia last time they played, Argentina has been playing like crap and barely beat a poor Chile side in Copa America. Just keep an eye on the players that debuted, these guys know zero about ball.

Imagine having 2 shot attempts in the whole game, being in last place in the qualifiers, no clear red card for a disgusting tackle on Mac Allister and crying about the referee… the 40yo Paolo Guerrero ladies and gentleman. Literally anyone who loses to Argentina nowadays: *The ref beat us* Even Luka Modrić did it, on a freaking 0-3 loss! And France after getting creamed for the first 75 minutes. Funny how the common denominator here is that all of these teams got humiliated. They’re looking for excuses, rather than looking to improve their game.

Ecuador look better but need to bring Valencia off the bench going from 2025 he will not be reliable anymore. I think Ecuador are not talked about enough though. Some facts I want to drop - first team to break Colombias home record - least goals conceded - second most games won -tied for least games lost ( both coming from power houses 🇧🇷🇦🇷 and from set pieces) -without the point deduction we would be in second only 3 points behind Argentina - also want to point out Uruguay who are in second have only lost two games as well one them coming from Ecuador We are a very strong team we need to figure out our striking problem and fast because this is our golden generation

Ecuador has a sub17 kid Riquelme Angulo who is like 6'5 striker but he's literally a twig becauss hes stil so young. he reminds me of Halaand, tall and always at right place right time high striker IQ and very very long limbs.. he's the 9 Ecuador needs. They need to start letting this kid play like they did with 15 year old Kendry Paez.. there's still time to get him getting used to playing with adults.. this kids a beast.

I think it's important to state that the paraguayan coach is Gustavo Alfaro the same coach that made Costa Rica tie Brazil in Copa America. After the Copa America Paraguay literally stole Costa Rica's coach and now they 're in 6th place in Conmebol. Damn and this hurts for us in Costa Rica since we just lost our games to Panama this past international break.

Costa Rica only knew how to play defensively, which is why they were saved from being beaten by more than 8 goals by Brazil in the Copa America. Gustavo Alfaro knew that with Paraguay he had better players to play Brazil on equal terms and he beat them with an offensive game, and not by closing in as he did against Costa Rica.

To add to Solteros point in 16:58. Brazil historically are good not just in the United States but in North America. Here's an interesting fact, the longest Brazil have ever gone without winning a word cup was 24 years 1970 - 1994. They broke there world cup drought in the 1994 WC in USA. by 2026 it would be 24 years that Brazil goes without a WC and the 2026 WC just happens to be in the US

the reason why Ecuador does so well is because they are a super consistent side while the rest of the continent is in a constant shift in level, for example Copa America Paraguay and post Copa America Paraguay may as well be completely different teams, I could see ecuador losing to a chilean team on the rise as well because chile's highest highs are still better than ecuador's highest high

I thought Venezuela and Bolivia would have good chances of qualifying. I even counted Paraguay out. Well Paraguay seems headed to WC, and only one of Bolivia or Venezuela would make the WC and might even lose in inter confederation playoffs. I have always believed that Ecuador would qualify with difficulty but now it seems they would qualify more comfortably. Colombia seems headed for 2nd place in this qualifiers now they would probably finish fourth or fifth. Uruguay finally regains its mojo after winless streak. Brazil is Brazil although they're struggling a bit, there's never a doubt they would qualify to WC.

Let me tell you something guys! One thing about Colombia is that they are not what some delusional people think. In copa America I believe it was quite obvious that Argentina was going to make the final and win it and the opponent in the final couldda be any other team.
