No ball Messi stats r better coz from 2002 - 2005 Ronaldo was a midfielder and benched in 2021 and 2022. Messi is the goat by stats but Ronaldo does come close to Messi coz Ronaldo is the most complete player he can score with his right foot, left, head. He has good pens, freekicks, solo goals, volleys, headers, dribbling, skills, long range goals and bicycle. He is the most complete so because of that Ronaldo comes close. If Messi has his main foot cut off and Ronaldo also did, Ronaldo would perform better so it comes close to that.

Stats are good but Ronaldo is a perfect role model of what a good player should NOT be. Selfish and not at all a team player and probably indulged in play-acting as well. Unfortunately other good players like Mbappe, Garnacho, etc. are following him and risk becoming selfish. The problem with that is modern football will only be won by better teams - not better individual players. I could see that happening in the World cup 2022 and repeated in EURO cup this year.

You made a brilliant video. And you didn't even get to many important facts yet still so one-sided. If you look at the history of the game you'll find that quality has always taken a bigger percentage to someone's greatness. I name the factors as quality, quantity and quality of your quantity(my emphasis). Hence why you see names like Maradona, Cruyff etc enter these discussions. When you consider these you'll find that Messi easily enters the convo along with Pele as well. But CR7 would barely make a top 20 list(he obviously has world class quality but not to the elite level). What has catapulted him so high is the consideration of quantity which didn't mean as much before but was hyped up by media and fanatics to give him a chance. Quality wise, Messi takes it and it's not even close. Quality of quantity again is owned by Messi such as iconic moments. Then sadly CR7's own playing field is still edged by Messi though arguably. So where is the basis for comparisons really????? Such a dumb force of a debate.

In 2008, CR7 was the best player in the world and he got his due praises for it and quality wise, many still believe that to have been the best of his peak as an all-around player. Yet people still consider someone like Henry to be the best in EPL history. So Henry's best in the premier league is viewed by many as being better than Ronaldo's best in the premier league. So basically what Ronaldo added to that was quantity such as goals, records and more UCLs which is great yes. This is why many casually remark him to be just a goalscorer (which is not true) simply because he's done way more of that now. But......by contrast, as early as 2010, Messi wasn't only the best in the world, but people started asking...."is this the greatest player in history?". No one asked that of Ronaldo in 2008 or 2009 or even 2012 which was arguably his best year. But for Messi he was already considered in that company for obvious reasons. This was before social media got to this present state ofcourse. So there are levels. Ronaldo at best is in that Thierry Henry level of quality - at best. So my point remains; if quality was all that mattered there are many more special talent legends of the game that would fill up a top 20 list ahead of Ronaldo but you can't discount his quantity hence why you see him rated so high. But even in his quantity, he doesn't have iconic moments to the magnitude of Pele's Messi's or Maradona's at the very least. So it's great footballing injustice imo to place CR7 higher than 4th all time ahead of any of those three.
