In terms of good solid TEXTUAL studies....no one does it better than Nichols...his motto for years, "from the words, in connection with the words, on the basis of the words." Further interpretation is important, but too many times people begin to speak without examining the core data in the ancient texts in their original languages. Ross does that and put anyone in a position to then began to draw their own well informed conclusions...

Ross, perhaps you would like to at some point divert into an episode or two where you discuss the implications of Temple Zero, on the western slope of the Kidron, that contains a massebah. The temple dates from the mid-late Bronze, around Jacob's time. The fascinating thing about it is that it apparently remained in service until Hezekiah buried it to support the wall he constructed. So it was in operation at the same time some, at least, were worshipping up the hill in Solomon's Temple. At the very least this means there were religious factions co-existing in Jerusalem for hundreds of years.

Hey Ross 👋🏻 do you think this passage, even from the old prophets still applies today as to charge money to teach whats spiritual from God or the gifts from Him?: Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets practice divination for money. Yet they lean upon the YEHOVA saying, “Is not the YEHOVA among us? No disaster can come upon us.” And or this one can be applied for even bible selling and money making as well as God inspired literature for spiritual purposes and revelations that benefit people that says: Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.? Thanks for your input, i was wondering about this 🏅!

@Ross Yeshua also makes reference to being the Ladder of Yaakov and that whole scenario, which is why I believe, the messiah is tied to the symbol of a rock (the builders rejected, rock with seven eyes, etc.) Obviously, God is also referenced as a rock or stone, Interestingly, it seems to be a shared title between the two. Even אבן the Hebrew word for stone/rock is also a word, that contains within itself אב Av (Father) and בן Ben (son).

Interesting that only the tribe of Levi was referred to as 'mesiah'... not the lineage of David from Judah.

Don't forget what King David said, in Psm 110: 1-4 about Yeshua , a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek. (King of Rightousness).

I'm forever amazed at the willful rejection of Matthew as the primary source document of Christianity. The gospel of John defies the gospel of Matthew on so many levels that I had to reject it completely to make sense of what Jesus taught in Matthew - which has remarkable ties with the Covenant of 3000 years ago - Ross. I don't know who I'm most disappointed in: Bible publishers, Bible teachers/preachers, Ross Nichols, James Tabor, or Bart Ehrman?

The anointing (wisdom knowledge and understanding, holiness, power, might and fear of YHWH) IN YOU is the hope of glory. The messiah is all around you IN your true brothers and sisters. Its not one person. Noted as HIM in scripture. Its actually plural. The logos doesn't become a noun until it's risen in YOU and ME.

@@kimberlywallace6148 The Anointed One is the House of David. Its not one person. Jer. 33:22, Psalm 18:50. Noted as as HIM in scripture. If you had read the bible for yourself you might have known this.

@@deniceetterholehan7653 this class established the foundation of the biblical idea of anointing. The class was followed by a lengthy Zoom call where we discussed the subject in detail. I have plans to follow the idea through the Hebrew Bible in future classes.

The question i asked for many years is "what exactly is the annointing"? What is the Father meaning when he "annoints" someone? It took me forever to finally figure out what may be obvious to others. The "annointing" in its lowest common denominator is the Logos and Spirit that rests upon someone the Father has chosen or called out as his suffering servant, his witness. In the Tanak it was usually just few people at a time. A king, a priest, a prophet. That was Gods annointed mouthpiece. In the new covenant, that honor is given to MANY. His called out very elect Sons. His annointed (messiah) is more than one person. His servant is all his witnesses. Unfortunately due to corruptions and mistranslations and lies of the scribes, the NT lost its original meaning and definition of "who is Gods Anointed Son"? Its not one person. Its ALL OVERCOMERS who will be the Fathers heir of all things. Revelation 21:7. Noted as HIM (singular) in the OT. But is actually many. As noted in psalm 2:2:3. And isaiah. So if you are chosen by God, and annointed then his living word and spirit is poured upon you. Giving you wisdom, knowledge understanding, holiness, power, might, and righteous fear. The preexistance of the annointing is not a man named Jesus. Its the annointed word and spirit that lives within the Fathers chosen Sons. His firstborn. All Ephraim. Of every nation tongue and tribe. The lost sheep who are gathered from NESW.

I’m sorry sir but you’re quoting scripture with no context. Where is this story leading to and what is the point you are trying make? Your pronunciation of “Mashiach” “Mashok” is making me cringe. Definitely not Critical Academic Scholarship happening here.

Those are two separate words. Mashach is to smear, while Mashiach is the one being anointed.

@kimberlywallace6148 you don’t know how Hebrew root words work? “Mashach” is the root or base construct for words related to “anointing”. He’s showing the relationship and meaning behind this root word.
