I live probably 3,000 miles from Messicks. Yet with today's technology I watch these videos. There are volumes of information gleaned from this, as I'm tractor shopping. Neil is doing incredible work for their company. And also for Kubota! Keep up the good work, Sir. I'm an old man and have son's older than you, and I am inspired and energized by your videos. Hope to buy a B2650, B2601, or L2501 or L3301 very soon... I worked a small tractor business with a Kubota B7100 my dad bought back in the late 1970s. I was 16 years old. I want another Kubota. God Bless.

Neil you do a very great job with these videos. I have watched this video numerous times and have made several trips to my local Kubota dealer here in Mississippi trying to make the right decision on which tractor and mowing application will best work for me. Your excellent work producing these videos is a great resource for those of us working through understanding the differences in these machines. I live in the PacNW and recently bought a B2650 which has wildly exceeded my expectations. My only regret (seriously) is not getting one sooner. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars renting equipment over the years, wasting time ordering, waiting and paying for delivery/pick up and often having bad weather on the dates I needed to use it. I'm not a big fan of borrowing money (I paid cash for mine) but I would have been ahead in the long run if I would have bought a Kubota years ago and made payments on it.

Neil, I've been toying with getting a B 2650 or a B3350, so this video was helpful. My primary use will be snow plowing and removal. Does Kubota offer a rigid rear hitch upon which a ballast block could be mounted. I don't like the idea of using a three point hitch for that because of the constant strain on the hydraulics, and because I don't like the way a block would sway back and forth when in use. The mass of a concrete block would knock the rear end of a machine left and right and it is disconcerting to say the least.
@MessicksEquip6 жыл бұрын
Lock the block down with sway bars, then it won't move. The weight on the 3-point is not an issue. I'd fill the tires or do wheel weights before cooking up a way to put the weight on the back.

Hi Neil, have you got any figures for rough fuel consumption of the various models? Obviously it must vary a lot depending on the task, but just a ballpark would be useful. Many thanks, videos have been very informative.
@HandfulOfTranquility5 жыл бұрын
It does VERY much depend on the task! With a lot of idling or just general driving around I can go 15-20 hours before I add another 5 gallons to my tank. That is less in winter when I am using more of the available power for snowblowing, but even then its about 40% warmup time and 60% actual work time. With these diesel engines it is very much dependent on the actual load. I think you could probably figure on around an hour per gallon if you are more working the vehicle. At a high engine speed they use around 250 grams per kw/h of power. WHats that in US measurements? Right around .1 gallons per hour per HP used if I'm doing my math right. Not sure what just sitting there idling counts as, but say you are using half the rated 26 HP so 13 HP, that would be 1.3gallons per hour. My numbers are based on the fuel consumption at 2200 RPM www.kubotaengine.com/assets/documents/11_d1305_30.pdf

@erikniemi19776 жыл бұрын
@@emerkamp1 I've got the B3350, I actually prefer the Kubota setup while reversing longer distances while snowblowing. I find that if I just sit a little sideways in the seet the pedal is right under my heal while I backup and I can look straight out the back of the cab. I don't have super long legs and find that the twin pedal reverse tractors like John Deere are a bit too far away if I'm sitting sideways in the seat. Hi Tyler , Not sure if you ever got an answer to your question . I have the 2650 and it has many advantages over the Bx series , but the Bx is easier to get around in tight spots and low branches on trees etc. . If you do your own work like changing fluids etc. you will definitely like the higher ground clearance as you can slide right under it . It is definitely not to much tractor for 6 acres of land . You didn't give any description of your 6 acres so it is kind of hard to answer your questions properly .

Depends. Belly mowers are not so good at making the fancy schmancy patterns that some seem to like, and they're DEFINITELY not as agile, lol. However, if you just want to cut your grass they work fine. Big plus: the tractor is useful for a LOT of different jobs- the zero turn mower? Well, it can cut lawns, cut lawns or cut lawns. Both will cost you a pretty penny. Imo the 0 turn is a VERY expensive toy, unless you cut lawns for a living- or have a LOT of lawn. You might like it better if you have an obnoxious amount of trees, planters and other obstacles to mow around, as well. Both options beat stomping along behind a push mower, though!!

Question on the B2650 with the cab. I am buying one from my local dealer and had a question about the radio option. Does the radio come with any special features like auxiliary connection for an iPod , CD player, Bluetooth etc?? I noticed when I was looking at the tractor that it looks like a standard rectangle slot that normal car radios fit in. can I just go to say Walmart and buy a Panasonic car radio with all the bells and whistle‘s and get it installed? My local dealer told me that the radio that Kubota offers is $175 and I found a Panasonic car radio with all the bells and whistle‘s for $49 at Walmart on clearance brand new.

Its, but you need a wiring harness
@mainelyelectric6 жыл бұрын
Messick Farm Equipment Is that something that local dealers offer is that a conversion adapter wiring harness? The guy I talked to at my local dealer said that everything like the antenna plug and leads are up in the ceiling of the cab. The cab Already comes with speakers.
@MessicksEquip6 жыл бұрын
Correct. There is no plug-and-play harness, you need to splice the wires together between a tractor harness and radio. Parts Dept can help.

Messick Farm Equipment One more question about the 9 pin plug up in the ceiling of the cab that the radio wiring harness plugs into. Do you happen to know if it has a constant 12 V supply on one of the pins when the Key is off? Because the radio I picked to put in my tractor needs a constant 12 V supply as well as the switched 12 V supply that is already in the plug for memory saving.

If I would want to upgrade from a Kubota B2910 and use it to haul large square bales. What would you recommend??
@MessicksEquip6 жыл бұрын
All depends on the weight of the Bale. No less than MX series.
@TJZ-rc2ie6 жыл бұрын
So do you think the Kubota L3560 would be to small to lift bales that weigh about 600 lbs?
@MessicksEquip6 жыл бұрын
They are not too many large squares that come in at 600 pounds. depending on the Baler they're coming out of, your usually 1200-2200lbs.

I have a 2017 b2650. Has the loader joystick location and or operation changed? It looks like it’s in a different spot on yours. I’ve always felt that the stick is a bit stiff and hard to be smooth with. I am an excavator operator by trade and have 20 years of experience running equipment. I’m just not happy with the feel of the stick. I’m otherwise very happy with the tractor.
@MessicksEquip5 жыл бұрын
That's not changed. You'll surely never get a pilot control feel from a mechanical valve.
@Petertutinski5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the response! I don’t expect the feel to be comparable. The only reason I give my experience is to communicate my familiarity with running equipment in general. I’m just having a hard time with fine adjustments. Once I have applied enough pressure to the stick to move the hydraulics they “jump” too abruptly. I’ve tried adjusting the throttle which helps a little. I guess if that’s just to be expected I’m disappointed with that. Like I said though I am happy overall.

I priced a B2601 with loader and backhoe on Kubota's website. Then I looked at Massey Ferguson GC1720 TLB on someone else's website. Their price is $10,000 lower. I like the hydraulic control lever for loader and forward and reverse pedals on the B2601. Why should I spend the extra money for the B260l for a couple of extra features I like better then the GC1720? Can not find a comparison between the 2 tractors. thank you for anyone's input
@MessicksEquip6 жыл бұрын
Wrong model, this is why you need a good salesman. the equivalent tractor to the massy that you're looking at is a Kubota bx23s.

i drive milker tanker for a living..... large diesel trucks. buying a tractor with hp less then the EPA requirement for a DPF/SRC system is a wise decision. my employer buys emissions trucks, but personally i will never own any diesel with a DPF system. they are nothing but an expensive pain the in the ass. if i ever get stuck with one, i would research deleting the system when the warranty expires. EPA mandated hogwash
@MessicksEquip5 жыл бұрын
I've never seen a DPF delete done on a small tractor. We don't have near the problems that the truck industry has had. The emissions systems need heat to work well, and generally your running your tractor hard so things hum along properly.

Why did they put a step on a 2650 and not on a 2601? I’m an old fart who can’t just jump up on the horse any more.
@MessicksEquip5 жыл бұрын
The 2650 is higher, I believe the step fits the 2601 though
@arkyump5 жыл бұрын
@@MessicksEquip I have a buddy that has the 2650 and I checked the step and the frame and the 2650 step won’t work. The 2650 has a tubing frame member, probably due to the cab configuration, and the step won’t work unless I somehow weld some support steel under the floor. I don’t think there is a solution at least from Kubota.
