Also, no hugging/holding me from 18 months old. No Christmas, birthday gifts, no birthday recognition. Forbidden to have toys. I had 13 foster care homes- always informed of a move to a new placement minutes before. No one cared. I outgrew raggedy clothes full of holes, informed by classmates of shoddy conditions of my clothes. I didn’t realize that wasn’t normal. I observed other kids families and gradually realized that my experience wasn’t normal

I use to be so empathetic to others, and i never received the same back. I know how a A Demonic Narc operates from a parental and romantic point of view. It seems like that's all ive seem to attract. Anyway, the empathy has left me to regulate who i will use it with, i have cut people off, i dont need to be bothered with other's toxic energy any longer.

This is so true. My empathic abilities were a curse for the first 69 years of my life. Both of my parents were mentally ill and brutal and as a result from age 8 or 9 until age 73 I was unable to feel or express emotions. It was a very lonely and tragic life as I didn't know what a healthy relationship looked like so I picked one narcissist after another for relationships. I have since healed and have allowed my super empathic senses run radar for me and it has served me well. I now have very strong and automatic boundary defenses so now narcissists cannot get past their first manipulative attempts at me and usually they will try to get me to offend or cause trouble for others and I put up neutral defenses until they ultimately have to show their true narcissistic personality. That is when I say something like you may do that to someone who cares for you but I won't and I walk away. Problem solved, they disappear and bother someone else.

I think the trap of the empath is to think they’re the hero of the story. Not everyone does it, but whenever the word hero is used in this context (as it was in this video) it makes me realize that videos like this are written to pander and not to enlighten. As an empath, I have had to face my own need to control, and my own desire for victimhood status, which in and of itself is a narcissistic trait.

This is the clincher, they do, or attempt to do the same manipulation or lie over and over! They are like children who never learn the lesson that it will not work. They are diabolical, yet so very stupid. I read somewhere that they have high IQ’s. I have a hard time believing that…because it is always groundhogs day, over and over!!! Not necessarily. One can see what they are doing and still feel kind of sorry for their dysfunction and need for control. In the end, however, you watch them humiliate themselves by quietly removing yourself from the situation, just when they expected you to react a certain way and counted on you to play the part they carved for you.

But even being a super empath… Sometimes it’s impossible to get through to these people. I have always been a highly observant person and very empathetic, but no one is perfect. I am stating this because someone commented on this forum saying that super empath sounds like beings that do not exist. That is not true. We take hits beyond what anyone else takes. And we use the nice approach and I can’t say it ever works.

I was super shy and a quiet kid, now, a very mature adult. Always observing everything. Due to this obs, I knew our family was dysfunctional at a very young age (under 10), don’t look for things, but I do pick up on nuances, both subtle and not so subtle. Didn’t find out family was NPD till decades later. It is no surprise after finding out that I have attracted many NPD boyfriends and even girlfriends into my life. I’m generally easy going, but don’t try to mess with me or take advantage, especially game play or manipulate, as I’ve been known to suddenly turn my back on “offenders.” I’m sure they are surprised, but in my life only 3 have apologized, and one did the same thing again, and another, father, took back his apologies twice in next breath (by saying, you know how you are). I have no idea what he meant, but saw it as not being accountable for his atrocious behavior and actions towards me, his daughter. I’m not a kid anymore, I like to say I’m a survivor, and I’m pretty darn empathic. People just don’t understand when I say “I watched it (unfold) go down,” or that I “felt” anger or watched as manipulative attempts unfolded. When I have suddenly realized that someone is a narcissist due to something that they did that revealed who they are, I always know that is the end of that relationship because they have seriously misread and underestimated me. I believe that my empathy and adept skills at reading a person, whether initially or sometime down the road, have enabled me to become a super strong woman.

It really isn’t hard but at the same time it’s hard to do the right thing even when I’m the only one in the situation doing it. Even when people shush me, it’s impossible to stay quiet when a person is deceiving for his own agenda. Standing up for myself was not allowed when I was a kid. It was important for me to instill in my daughters Jenna a voice and to speak out for what she feels is right. Definitely when someone is hurting her. And I’ve been on the receiving end of her speaking out and it can hurt but she’s right and I had to admit my wrongs. And I am not proud that I’ve unknowingly tested her ability to speak up. Life isn’t about pleasing everyone except ourselves. Life is best in my experience is to have a balance of meeting our own needs and meeting the needs of the others we care about.

hi, i guess i am that qeuit emphat. i see a lot in video who i am. but there are few things for me in my situatiosn are difficult. for example not feeling the energy from my neighbour.. specialy in the night when he have his problems and wake me up with his tv and walks. also his energy feels for me like grey and heavy. it makes me little agressive insite of myself also that momnet. because for me its normal that i have to deal with. and about bounderies, they never lsiten to bounderies. so when i am a neighbour i have to deal wiht. because they are not putting the music very loud. so its ;ega; and he knows about. he dont care, he is 24-7 insite.... i hope i can find a way further to not feel his energy. and he not wake me up. its a dominant looser

Fairy tales. NPD/ASPD person can be defeated only by another NPD/ASPD person. Empaths are too weak to do so.
