The price is really high here in Canada but what has me not buying is the fact that you have to buy the disc drive and stand separate. I believe a console should be an all in one purchase from set up to play. We are going down the road where the cords will be sold separately and you won’t even get one controller with the system.

I hate sony as much as the next guy, but you cannot compare xbox's upscaling with sony's new upscaling tech on the pro. PSSR is going to be very similar to DLSS, which looks far better than FSR. FSR is dogwater. DLSS will likely still be better than PSSR, considering NVIDIA are the market leader in AI and they clearly have more experience working with AI than sony. But I would imagine PSSR won't be much worse.

I think you hit the biggest issue with it being even a lack of reasons to buy a PS5. So many games are still being tuned and released for the PS4, it's going to take several years before game engines are tailored for the current generation and Sony is trying to rush selling new hardware for software that doesn't exist yet, and will probably not exist until after the PS5 lifecycle.

I can agree with you about the price. I think the idea of not having a disc drive built in is the same reason they didn't do it with the slim. That being you can choose to have it be all digital and if you do decide to get the disc drive it will make it easier to replace it when it does finally stop working.

Hey Im Sony fan and Id like some honest advice from a Sony Fan. I waited years, never got the PS5 even when it finally went down in price. I HATE its size, and lack of games that I like were main factors for me not getting one. I skipped the Slim because by the time that came around I was hearing the rumors of "PS5 Pro" so I waited longer; now here we are and this news is mega dissappointing for me. My bros are PC fans and they've never convinced me to get one and I NEVER will. These are the games ive missed out on, at launch - Resi Evil 4 Remake JEDI: Survivor RoboCop: Rogue City Tekken 8 FF7: Rebirth Black Myth Wukong And the way things are going ima miss out on Dune: Awakening and Starship Troopers: Extermination. If i get a slim feel like ill be wasting my money in the long run. 😒🤷‍♂️

I am a playstation user since PS 1. And nintendo since the SNES. Even Xbox from the original until Xbox One. I prefer awesome games at 1080p on a switch docked mode than all those wonderful graphics on a crappy game. I love they are pushing the hardware, but they should accompany that with outstanding games that take advantage of those features. Something only available on such and such platform. To justify the purchase I mean. Lately I play everything on PC. Except the latest PS Astro Bot. You see a great game that does not need to be photo-realistic. A la Nintendo.

Why are all you complaining? What did you expect. In 2020 the ps5 was 500$ and a 2 tb Ssd back then was 400$ and 300$ on sale. So 800 back then. Ps5 is still 500. So your paying 100$ extra for the 2tb ssd and 100$ extra for more power. Besides the disk drive whats the problem. If they released at 599 with a 1tb drive you would all complain about that.

problem is existence of ps4 pro with pricing and performance compared to what was offered last gen and also removal of disk drive into an optional upgrade generating even higher cost instead of requisite inclusion; not to mention current economic environment. it will still sell out if 1 million are made at launch as only a small percentage (2%) of current ps5 player base is needed, aside from any potential newcomers.

Now Sony releases console thats desinged to do exactly that doubling framerates in ”fidelity” modes meanwhile also slightly improving graphics and all of a sudden its graphics that matter again 😁 people complaining how it does not look better even if fps is double .. its funny .
