This seems like an ad like other people have said, but also, this product has great potential. As far as people saying this will replace the smartphone, I don't think that's going to happen simply because the smartphone is an object that is very intuitive in how it is used. We can all understand how to use a touch screen, and without a surface to touch, and just waving your hands in the air, it's a whole other way of interacting that people may not know its shortcomings until they give it a try. It's too early to tell.

I totally get where you're coming from! The smartphone's ease of use and intuitive interface make it hard to imagine something else replacing it anytime soon. While Meta's AR glasses certainly have potential, you're right-it could take time for people to adjust to a new way of interacting with tech, and there may be hidden challenges along the way. Bit of misinformation here. The wrist bands doesnt read your mind. It interacts with you hand and finger movements.
@smittyvanjagermanjenson1822 ай бұрын
Its an EKG wristband. It's translating the signals from brain to your fingers as a control input. After enough times moving your fingers you won't have to move them or ever so slightly move them and it will pick up on the thought of doing so. These demos required hand movements because the user's weren't the actual owners. So the band couldn't become fully calibrated, remembering the individuals unique inputs signals.

@smittyvanjagermanjenson1822 ай бұрын
The processing puck currently has wifi. The puck also last all day. While the glasses max out at around 3 hours. Cellular likely won't be affecting it any differently.
@_mattaeus_2 ай бұрын
@@smittyvanjagermanjenson182wrong.. no all day battery life… estimated between 2-3 hours .. cellular would obliterate it.. cellular IS extremely power hungry.. and alone could account for up to 30% battery power reduction to those already short 2-3 hours on standby alone. What use is the puck alone without the display it is intended to drive? NONE
@smittyvanjagermanjenson1822 ай бұрын
@_mattaeus_ the puck has an all day battery life, the puck would be what receives the cellular. It also lacks a display, so it could easily maintain that battery life. The glasses themselves in its current prototype state is roughly 3 hours. The glasses would be fine as they rely on short bursts of data transmission from the puck to conserve power. Have fun being a pessimist tho. Things will only get better in the coming years.
