Have both, love both…psvr2 is less versatile, smaller catalog, but when you dig in, it’s a more limited but way deeper experience, not a wide range of top tier games, but they make the difference (Horizon, GT7, ResidentEvil, NoManSky, RedMatter2, Synapse etc.). Quest3 is awesome and better for everything else, casual gaming, travelling, watching tv/movies (although limited, psvr2 is still better quality wise for Netflix for instance, but you can’t compete with quest’s bigscreen or skybox watching apps), and IMO slightly more comfortable (get a good strap and you’re good to go). PlayStation misses a couple of executives who really believe in this stuff to bring a big push, Meta is throwing all they got in the OS and experience, learning from apple unaffordable experiments. PSVR2 has oled displays, with hdr support so they can still make your eyes burn in 1h, yeee, but with fresnel lenses, so it’s sharper, brighter and with deeper blacks but quickly blurry off-center, which impacts the awesome eye-tracking feature quite badly, that’s real bad…especially compared to the pancake optics of the quest3, which make the overall experience so much nicer, even with faded LCD screens. As of today: pancakes, way bigger win than oled/hdr when it comes to VR. Combine the two and you’re all set! Bottom line: if you’re looking for great experience on an occasional basis and have a ps5, go psvr2, if you’re looking for a more casual and portable way to enjoy a more rounded VR xp, go quest! And if you’re careless and have money to spare, get both, top it with a Vision Pro and become a KZbinr 😂

@@CornPopWazABadDude for games that are available on both (and there aren't that many at the end...), graphics on PSVR2 definitely win, it's sharper, more defined, colors are deeper, movements are smoother and feel better, and foveated rendering can be a nice thing when done right (if done at all..). The only thing the Quest 3 does better when it comes to graphics is due to the optics, pancake lenses are a huge deal, PSVR2 made a choice, HDR and getting the best of the OLED over optics (they didn't make the move to pancake because of HDR), that's a tradeoff, tech isn't there just yet, but things are changing fast (LG just announced their new display, meta+LG might not happen at the end, lots of moving parts here...). As of today, Red Matter 2 is a great example: it looks great on quest 3, it's really impressive for a standalone device, on PSVR2, it's a different beast, the game looks even better, sharper, and the experience feels more involving IMO, it's not just the graphics, the immersion is just deeper. On the other hand, Quest 3 brings an easier and more convenient way to enjoy the experience, a bit less involving, but with quicker and more accessible and shareable results.

So what I'm wondering is how they compare when the quest 3 is actually optimized to run at 100 percent or overclocked, because I believe stock they have it set to run at about 70 percent of its actual capability. I got the optimizer app to unlock its real potential and was blown away. I thought it'd be a little better, but no it was an unbelievable difference for some games (depends on how high res of assets were used by devs, etc). For example, I've overclocked mine to about 120 percent, so it's running about 50 percent higher resolution settings, cpu and GPU speeds/settings and it's a MASSIVE difference I could never go back. Also not many games if any have actually been designed specifically for the Q3 yet have they? Aren't most available now designed for Q2 with maybe done optimization updates added?

After this whole ID requirement with the Meta Quest headset. Ive decided that whenever the PSVR2 gets official PCVR support without a PS5. I will purchase that instead. I shouldn’t have give Meta any ID to use their headset.

PSVR2 for gaming if you have a PS5 already Sadly i dont see much happening anytime on the PSVR2. I also have a meta quest 3 which i play a lot more for decent gaming movies and great apps.

@@MrGipiem pretty big things to talk about when comparing the two. Also, psvr2 does not have higher resolution than meta quest 3 but yes oled is absolutely better than lcd display. But ppl complain often about psvr2 fresnal lenses and praise pancake lenses often so definitely missed opportunity

Well, for me it is a no brainer. I only have a PC computer, so the Quest 3 is my choice and I do have one. If I had a play station, which I don't, then the choice would be their VR headset. The clarity, resolution, color passthrough, and the pancake lenses meet all my requirements for doing SIM racing games on my PC. I connect the headset via a USB link cable for best performance. Only thing I changed on the Quest 3 is the head strap to a BoboVR S3 Pro strap. It also comes with a battery having larger capacity for doing longer VR sessions of using the headset. Take care.

I already have a quest 2 so I don’t think I’m going to get a quest 3, but I have a ps5 and have loved PlayStation for years and years now so I think 8m gonna get the PSVR 2. Meta is doing fantastic and I love what they are trying to do with this whole mixed reality thing, but I have a quest 2 already so it’s kinda just $650 (in Canada) for a kinda similar headset

I had high-end 7k+ 4090 strix / quest 3 setup and also ps5/psvr2...guess which I ended up selling? Nope, you guessed wrong. I sold my 4090 / quest 3. Why? One single reason, and that is the countless hours I spent thinkering about settings, trying to look the game as best as possible. And just when I thought I finally figured out the optimal visuals-performance ballance in HLA or Automobilista 2, the scenery cha ges and I again experienced stuttering... Even 4090 strix can not run every single setting on max in VR, not even close... With ps5/psvr2 it is all plug and play. The graphics are optimized to the maximum capacity of the PS5 hardware with (thanks god) no options for customisation. Quest 3 with 4090 is visually impressive, but it is 5-7x more expensive. Quest 3 does not come close to psvr2 with colors, it does not have eye tracking and eye based foveated rendering. Also, quest 3 haptics are je joke, compared to resistive pressure triggers and headset haptics of the PSvr2. The rumble you experience at the beginning of red matter 2 when landing on Saturn is something else... Yes, Automobilista 2 is crisp as hell in quest 3 and runs smoothly 90hz natively with 4090 without and reprojection, it is visually more impressive than PsVr2's GT7 which runs at 60, reprojected to 120...But on the other hand, Red Matter 2 in PSVR2 runs at 120hz natively, and the resolution is shocking. I still don't quite understand how Mad Robot is able to achieve this level of visual fidelity with ps5. Besides, vitrual desktop I used for pc vr keeps crashing like crazy... I don't mind the psvr2 wire, as this means no charging and no battery, less weight on my head. Also note, that if you want an ultimate pc vr experience with quest 3 WITHOUT a wire, you pretty much need a 6ghz wifi6e router which will cost you additional 500 bucks. I feel bad for waisting so much money on my pcvr setup, but for now, I'm sticking with psvr2. Oh yeah, one more thing...both quest and psvr2 have A LOT of quality issues...dust under lenses, stuck or dead pixels, smudges in LCD and OLED pannels, with psvr2 expect mura, and in rare occasions, mismatched L and R pannel brightness....I've had to exchange 6 psvr2 units to get a good one and 3 quest 3 units to get the one without deffects.

Great comment, I had the same problems with PCVR too, so when the PSVR2 came along it was a no brainer, I sold my whole rig to get a PS5 and VR2 and still had money to load my library with games.

Well said, ive been a fan since psvr1 and just got version 2 yesterday, was blown away, spent an easy 2 hours in and only got off due to work tomorrow, ill be hoping right back in soon as im home, idc if sony dropped the ball, theres enough content to keep me going just like version 1, ppl just expect too much libary wise when im sure Metas market is like Switches market, full of games ill never buy , but psvr2 has actual deep rich games ill buy
