Say goodbye to your eyesight, I use couldn’t read small text and struggled reading KZbin comments. After I got the quest 3 a month later I’ve noticed my eyesight was back to 20/20 . The quest 2 made my eyesight hurt if I stayed in it over 40 minutes and it gave me headaches.quest 3s has the same lenses

@@boomboombaby9140 i’m sorry that might just be you bud. i had a quest 2 for 3 years, God knows how many hours on it and my prescription or anything hasn’t changed. my eyesight was pretty bad beforehand lol so that might be a factor but i don’t think vr really does much to your eyesight. although, there is definitely a risk for eye strain

I think they use the movement sensors to determine if you have it on or not. Eliminating the need for the proximity sensor.

I prefer the passthrough button because when I first had my quest 2 a little over a year and a half ago, 1 song in particular at like exactly 75% speed or something would cause it to switch to passthrough while it was playing

Well after watching this video iv decided I’m getting the quest 3 s. As an auto technician I’m all about less moving parts and reliability and those lenses in the 3s seem easy enough to replace if something happens. Thanks for your help you just got a new subscriber.

Got my meta quest 3s on launch day. Coming from a precious quest 3 owner I can compare both and give a honest opinion. I had a quest 3 but sold it half way through the year as I needed cash quickly but missed my quest so waited until I could afford something to replace it. Hearing of the 3s I thought Id go for it as it was cheaper and could play all the same games of the 3. I find both the 3 and 3s both great and most people will be very happy with the 3s it really is very close a comparison between them Unless you have money to spare. You’ll be really happy with either headset. Don’t feel you get a lesser product with the cheaper option both are great and worth their individual prices. Just decide what you want and can afford and go for it.

20:15 I never had a quest 3 so i dont know what the issues were with the double tap to do passthrough. But with the button i notice sometimes the pressure of pressing the button is just enough to knock me out of the lenses sweetspot and make everything blurry causing me to have to readjust, so i personally would of preferred the double tap.

I’m happy to help! We’ll do another closer inspection of the unit and the lenses in a different video, but I’ve compared the Quest 2 and Quest 3S lenses and they are completely the same. So anything designed for the quest 2 lenses should work.

My Autistic Nephew loves these videos and each and every quest when they came out. He is on it daily and knows everything about it inside and out. I always wanted the 3S because it's cheap, and has more storage than my 64gb quest 2 (got my quest 2 before they decided to make the larger storage one and before the name change), only concern about the 3S is if the speaker arms are just as bad as the quest 3, would it be worth the upgrade at all? I don't download alot of games, mostly Vrchat, and bonelabs.

Just subscribed. Thanks for helping me make up my mind about whether to spend the extra $200 for the MQ3. SO many people in the MQ Facebook groups insist that there's no comparison between the 3 and 3S. I'm in a lot of pro audio groups so I know how snob bias works but I'm new to VR. Between the marginal visual upgrade experience and the possibility of many more things going wrong, I'm going for the 3S. Again, thank you!

Thanks for the video. I didn't realize how much there is to repair these devices. I really want to purchase the 3s because I can not afford the 3 right now. Your video may have helped me with my decision to purchase the 3s. We got my son the 2 when it first came out. So far, we have only had to replace 1 controller. I am sure there is drifting on the other controller, but he has not complained. So we will let it go until the wheels fall off, so to speak. Keep putting out videos, and I will keep watching. I just liked and subscribed to your channel. Keep up the great work.

I got the quest 3 day one when it came out but it was kinda rt before the summer and I wasn't using it as much as I thought, it looked and worked amazing but because it was $500 I would feel bad I was not using it and would play when I wasn't into it, I ended up selling it and going back to quest 2 and enjoyed VR again . Now with the quest 3s I sold my quest 2 for $100 plus the free game and 3 month quest + it's like getting the quest 3 for $150. And the quest 3s looks and plays just like quest 3

With this model having infrared illuminators I’ve noticed hand tracking works great in pitch black. How do you adjust quest 3 lens get good resolution display

The lenses don’t have anything to do with the resolution. Resolution is an aspect of the LCD panels and that is a fixed factor. The things you can adjust are things like IPD and Refresh rate. You can use 3rd party apps like sidequest to improve graphical performance in some games, but that doesn’t really affect resolution
