I’m also a firm believer of WF. I agree with DB on the fact that it may not go very far in a YCS just based on the nature of the format. But I definitely think it’s the sleeper of the format. I also think it performs very well on the regional level

What’s the reason you have to pop early on Crystron to stop them from getting to Exciton Knight? You typically end on Cyber Dragon Infinity, Dawn Dragster, Crystron Tristaros into Crystron Quariongandrax, and Crystron Cluster, if you haven’t used Cyber Dragon Infinity at that point, you can just negate and destroy it when they activate it, or you can clear their monsters with Quariongandrax, if you already used the Cyber Dragon Infinity negate. I have a combo guide posted for the deck if anyone is interested! I do agree though, Crystron can definitely top post Supreme Darkness!

you have to consider that you typically DONT end on those since you get handtrapped, if you dont get interrupted its safe to assume you win, this is true for every deck, otherwise they cant be taken seriously as meta relevant

ext send logic negate infinity , now you have to interact early (also full board isn’t realistic since fs ryzeal typically plays 17 hts minimum)

@@TheDBGrinder Most Crystron lists are on a playset of Droplets, Impermanence, and Veiler, it’s significantly more likely to open one of those to stop Exciton Knight than to not, this means you can hold the Quariongandrax banishes or other interrupts till the opponent commits more of their names into the board since Ext turns off their ability to link Exciton off for Requiem, the way Crystron plays, your end boards are typically 4-5 interrupts with 2-3 pieces of non engine backing it up, the deck plays through most main decked handtraps relatively well with 2-3 pieces of engine, which its opening most games, so you tend to end on 3-4 interruptions even through most combinations of 2 handtraps game 1, going first, if played correctly, you tend to have spell/trap negation for consistency cards like Bonfire or Desires, or for Tract if they start with Fiendsmith plays, it’s less likely to hard open Ext than it is to not, and since you tend to end on atleast 1 Dawn Dragster among other interruptions even through 2 handtraps, depending on how many handtraps they used up turn 1 to try and stop you from playing, it is often better to use your interrupts earlier rather than later anyways, I know you said you probably wouldn’t play the deck atleast at events but you should post you piloting the deck if you ever get the chance! I think you’d enjoy playing it!

i think melodious has a solid matchup against ryzeal. even if you just pass on detonator, what is detonator doing with an online aria on board? sure, fiendsmith variants have an out in desirae, but you also have to get to that point first it also just got top 8 at a 300+ player regional so it's been proven that a competent player can still do really well with it despite the stronger competition. it just needs people to like, actually play it and play it efficiently lol

all of the starters in that deck besides the 6 spells Auto fold to dead and if you have ddd then the whole deck folds to dead , also evilswarm and fiendsmith both out the aria (and talents is played pretty heavy rn) also bystials are played a bunch so you need to achieve aria without letting it touch gy , idk the deck doesn’t seem THAT great tbh

Interesting to see goblin so low when others had higher hopes for it. EDIT: Something that cooks Melodious is that some of the side hate for Maliss and Ryzeal also turns off the deck. Lancea + Nibiru wipes the board, while D Barrier shuts you off. Everyone is running Bystials, which also gets rid of the one off Melodious, and finally Shifter eats all your recursion.

Blues will be a serious threat. Look at the ocg after the ryzeal hit, it is the #1 deck. Also before the hit it was top 3. So for-sure it will. Be a problem. Also calling yubel dog wateris ridiculous. It literally has topped at every event it showed up in. Also WF post suda will be a problem. This format will have multiple decks compete for #1
