Metabo BAS 261 band saw

where i live , metabo is 4 times more expensive than the chinese brands but i opted to buy metabo and man i made the worst choice in my tool buying life . don't get me wrong it is built much much better and well worth the money but it's near impossible to tune up for a perfect small resawing . you are better off with a table saw and doing back and forth cuts to do the resaw . cause with this kind of small bandsaw its not gonna be easy to cut a straight line without spending hours each time for tuning up

👍I agree. But I was thinking about what if it also depends on the quality of the saw blade or the teeth on the saw blade. I haven't tried it with another saw blade yet

Nice video thank you..Did you try hard wood like rock maple ect..ect? as i want to buy this for guitar building ,just want to make sure before i make this decision.

I don’t think that would be good as this saw is made differently than a metal saw. Because of the sawdust. Wheels, guides, suction are different. Cutting speed. I would not use this saw for metal

Hi, the table on my new bas 261 vibrates quite a bit. Does yours have the same problem? Will adjusting the tension help? My is resting in concrete. Thanks

Hello. The table on my band saw does not vibrate. The whole saw is shaking slightly, but its nothing wrong with that. This is from the rotation of the engine and drive wheels of the saw. Check if all the screws are fixed, see if the drive wheels are exactly rotating, try also adjusting the tension of the saw blade. Check the drive wheels if they are straight, not curved - the factory error It is necessary to set the running wheels, which travels between the saw blade. When you set the running wheels, also set the tension of the saw blade. I hope you will fix the problem and I want you to enjoy working with the band saw

@@darijan-diy Thanks for sharing. After making all the adjustments, there is still some noticeable shake. I could not balance a coin on the table without it toppling. Are you able to balance a coin without it toppling? Thanks.

Hello. It is necessary to adjust the running wheels which are on the saw blade, and set the table to be perpendicular to the saw blade. When you set up the running wheels, you also set the tension of the saw blade.
