I just bought my metabo nail gun. Tried it out before I bought it. Makes a bigger hole than Milwaukee one but I was able to adjust that by filing the firing pin narrower and it makes a better hole. Only thing I don’t like is the safety set up. Waaaay lighter than the Milwaukee and the biggest pro for me is that you can refill the chamber with air unlike the Milwaukee. Every time my Milwaukee’s needed recharging they just gave me a new tool lol. I’m impressed with the Metabo so far. Weight for me was a big issue. It doesn’t have dry fire lockout and the light stays on all the time too.

Thats awesome bro the 3 times ive sent in tools for repair to makita they just do it for free even though im out of warranty People dokt understand that when you send it in to get it repaired it might be free or in your case get a new tool for freeeeeeeee I hate it when people just throw it away and buy a new one I picked up a white xdt04 from makita impact and sent it in to get repaired because an electrician threw it in the trash…… One mans trash is anothe mans treasure for sure If its makita lol

Just got the Metabo HPT 18 ga. It works ok but leaves a large jagged nail hole bigger than my 16ga. Paslode & Bostitch. More work to fill nail holes. I think I will be returning it.

the Metabo is better build Quality by far I own Both these nailers the Milwaukee is on its 3rd warranty the metabo no issues at all with it and it gets used the most plus it also got left out in teh rain by one of my employee's over the week end last week and still works no issues ..METABO has a superior IP rating on there internal electronics and motors and the body composition is rated for more impact resistance and set the depth properly on the Metabo your depth was not adjusted properly but the Milwaukee does have more power but Durability sucks and the Metabo is lighter and smaller and better warranty Life time on that nailer and they cover water damage or damage from moisture ..Milwaukee NO water damage o moisture damage coverage your not supposed to use any other there tools out side or on construction sites

I've had the gen 1 and 2 Milwaukee's. Gen 1 was a nightmare and gave it away, gen 2 has been back to Milwaukee 3 times. I can't have my tools down for more than a couple days so bought the Metabo as a back up, but it's my main brad nailer now, even above my air guns. Super light and compact compared to the Milwaukee, barely bigger than my air guns. You do really have to hold it tighter to the workpiece than the M18, or it will leave the nail proud, and the 2 second lockout is annoying AF. That said it's been way more reliable and the weight and size makes a huge difference.

The 2 second lock out and the auto turn off timer on the nailers is what made me get rid of my hikoki/metabo

Very informative video (particularly how you cover the small details of both nailers). However, unless you are dexterous, I think that demonstrating the results of a nailer while using your left hand if you are naturally right handed (not saying you are) will alter the results. Something to keep in mind both for viewer and content producer.

As for the Metabo not seating nails you might need to adjust the depth with the wheel...as for it being quieter then the Milwaukee. Unless I'm working in a funeral home while a funeral is going on, that isn't a factor in going to consider.

Metabo is charged with compressed air, if you increase psi it sets nails more. Filler valve is available from metabo vs Milwaukee uses nitrogen.

Great review! Did you consider adjusting the depth setting on the Metabo HPT to sink the nailers further? I wonder if it would have improved the bump-fire results, but resulted in more surface marring in single-fire mode.
@UltimateToolReviews

I adjusted them as best I could before that test, but it always seemed like adjusting did very little. The Milwaukee adjustments were far superior and easier to dial in.

I've been using the M18 for about 3 years now, and never once put it in bump fire mode, and I've never seen anyone else do it either. It's a finish nailer, so you line up a good shot where it's going to go in clean. I do like the Hitachi. I've used it. I always hold the M18 upside down when doing base so I can criss cross the nails onto the studs, and the Hitachi is more comfortable for that. I've no need to buy a second 18g nailer, though. Maybe if the M18 lives past warranty then breaks I'll try the other one

I bought the metabo because it came with 2 batteries and it was 200 dollars cheaper. The metabo is just as good as milwaukee and a much better deal. The 23 gauge pin nailer is a different story iv heard of all sorts of issues with the metabo 23 gauge and everyone loves the milwaukee M12 pin nailer

I’m thinking of adding a 16 gauge Makita to my collection. It still costs more than a Metabo that comes with battery and charger. But… it’s the extra quality measure that keeps me leaning towards Makita. Great review.

My Metabo 18g cordless never fails to fully seat a nail unless im shooting at an extreme angle. I have a few other brands (DeWalt, Craftsman, Kobalt) and the Metabo is my personal go-to but the Kobalt is actually really good too. The DeWalt and Craftsman both kind of suck to be honest and I hate saying that about a DeWalt tool but it is what is

Same here. My metabo will leave a nail flush every now and then buy I've never had a single nail sit as proud as he was having them. Either operator error or a faulty gun

Yeah, but you’re not gonna use the Metabo overhead with no battery in it. I don’t know why people who review these things weigh them without the battery. You have to have a battery in it to use it. Lol. I want to know real life, weight with the battery in it. For both nailers.
@UltimateToolReviews
@UltimateToolReviews 9 күн бұрын
Reason is, I don't have every battery option on hand, however the tool itself can vary in weight with the nails and real world use. You can easy add the weight I gave and find the battery weight you have and add them together to find the exact weight of the tool+battery you will have without you have to buy the tool first.
@Greatgadgetsgear
@Greatgadgetsgear 9 күн бұрын
@ I get that, if you get the kit it comes with the battery and it would give viewers a general idea. Of course weight will go up and down based on variables but a lot of people buy the kits to have a starter battery. It would just put your reviews over the other channels who do the same things, weight without battery and slam nails into blocks of wood vs actual use lol. Thanks.
