I just got my first F55, would you still recommend this? Thanks!

Yes, it's still one of the best EF mount for the F55

Great review, thank you. I just received this adapter from B&H mid February 2016, and the tolerances in the EF mount are incredibly off the mark. I tried 4 EF lenses (on MB "approved list," not that that should matter for mounting) and every lens would not seat into the adapter like you show (only with an uncomfortable amount of force). Throughout the whole process I proceeded with care and was in no rush. Had I not found your review I would have sent this adapter back and gone with the Optitek that many F5/55 owners swear by. I guess I'll give them another chance. I hope Metabones steps up their quality control, because with their speed boosters (I own several) I've had many issues as well- the worst being shipped an actual prototype (sold as a final product) that had screws too short to hold the lens support mount to the booster securely. This resulted in my camera and lens falling off the tripod mount plate. This exact problem has been documented in various places on the web, with other people literally having their Blackmagic Pocket and lens go crashing to the ground. Since Metabones employs only 1 customer service rep (last time I checked) and he (Alex) can't speak more than 500 words of English--with which he refuses to provide any help, I'm very weary of dealing with them.

I ended up getting the Optitek and it doesn't work as advertised.

Someone on Vimeo suggested it won't work on F3 due to the XLR position on the F3, I wish someone would verify if this is true or not.

Please correct the title and the note. This Adapter DON'T MOUNT on the F3, because the F£ has the audio input part on the right that interfere for few millimeters with the emerging upper part on the Metabones adapter :-( I discovered it now, past having bought the adapter.

what adapter did you get?
@sergiorivista4 жыл бұрын
@@ashishalang1125 The one showed in this video (at 3:00 it can be seen). On the F3, one of the external parts interfere with the audio input zone of the F3. It was called "Metabones Canon EF to Sony FZ T CINE Smart Adapter" it can be seen on bhphotovideo.com with this name, at 999$. It's was a very beautiful piece of gear but sadly I had to return it.

@@sergiorivistawhat did you get instead?
@sergiorivista Жыл бұрын
@@JusThoughtZ Sorry, I responded earlier, but it seems like my reply might have been blocked, there was a link to Amazon... I purchased a PMW-F3 along with some accessories, one of which was a Fotodiox EF adapter. It only has an adjustable diaphragm, and I think it's not quite suitable for a full-frame lens as it creates some vignetting effects. And it don't have electrical contacts for the lens, so only manual controls...

Hi Alister, did you have a chance to test how it performs with the MTF B4 to EF adpter?
@alisterchapman9 жыл бұрын
+Jerry Kung You can attach the B4 to EF adapter to it. There's no change in image quality of course, the B4 adapter performs just the same whether attached via this FZ to EF adapter or any other FZ to EF adapter.

Hi Alister. This adapter should work on an F3, right?
