So I've had mine for 2 days now, and love it! It came with 3 pinions, had a 22, 24, and a 26 installed. I changed to the 24 to reduce the speed a lil bit, and get more torque. The tool kit is nice to get, and overall I like the quality. The only weak spot will be the driveshafts, I have already ordered them. I am using 2000mah 2s drone lipos I got at Walmart, and it runs so long I get tired before the battery goes dead. I haven't timed it but it's almost an hour. They come with upgraded metal gear differentials, but there are some plastic gear in the transmission. I backed mine off a little as it was locked. Also it comes with aluminum 12mm hexes, and full ball bearings, which was nice, and fit and finish was good. I like the transmitter, and the wheel has velvety soft foam so it's comforting to drive lol one more thing, the shocks are just bouncy springs, I will be upgrading those to good oil units, aluminum driveshafts (all4)and a brushless 380 size setup. Otherwise I'm very happy, and I can't believe I got it for $40 it's a deal at $100. They are $45 on eBay so anyone thinking if one snap it up. I'm actually thinking of buying another one to keep new in the closet.

I have both the Wltoys and the JJRC, just ordered Virhuck today for $42 with free shipping on eBay after watching your video, can’t wait. The JJRC is all ball bearings slipper clutch and metal gears front and rear and metal 12mm hex hubs on my buggy and Wltoys is not. Both are great at a great price, I’m hoping the Virhuck will be the same if not better. I have modified the Wltoys because it was the first one I got, brushless is the way to go with after market servo. Have not touched the JJRC and may not it’s great for crawling and still fast. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK YOU GUYS! Ps..... thank you to my wife for letting me get all three 😘

I have the Virhuck V01 as well. I have been running it here with a couple Floureon 7.4V 30C Lipo batteries...and it is *FAST* with a 30C battery! There is another "brother" in this family of trucks, the Feiyue FY03 Eagle 3. I *think* the original was the Feiyue, and they are all copies of the FY03. There is also the FY07, which is the *Brushless* version of the Feiyue FY03. And there are lots of replacement and upgrade parts available for them...including a complete metal replacement front end and rear end, along with full metal gears and shafts for the drive train. Of course, by the time you have done all that work, it has doubled the price of it...but if you do it incrementally, then it's not too bad for the wallet, I guess. :-)

I've had the 12428 since I first saw you guys review it. Got it upgraded with some metal parts and all metal gears and I am still loving it! The electronics are still alive after 2+ years except the battery so I got it upgraded..and here I am right now binge watching your reviews again..

I have a couple of ideas for a three way competition. 1. A smooth course to test for speed, like the one at RCS fest. 2. King of the hill competition, fastest up the big hill, you may have to pull some weeds. 3. Bricks stacked randomly for a crawl test. 4. Something to drag behind, small wagon, see how many water bottles each could pull.
@stuntdubl24656 жыл бұрын
What a great video! I can’t imagine 3 people would give a thumbs down. They must be drone or plane lovers. Sign me up for the comparison video. I’d love to see the basics. As you said, speed for sure, but also acceleration. I think the only way to put those aspects in perspective is to put them on a scale as well.

Wow! That is a totally *AWESOME* R/C truck!!! :-) Most definitely a home run -- and a good one! At least a three-run homer; possibly a grand freakin slam!!! Yes, please do a vid featuring all three trucks. 1: The BIG hill climb challenge (not the little {mainly UK term for kitty cat; five letters, starts with P and ends with Y} hill). 2: Ramp challenge. 3: Speed challenge (just use a watch or clock with a second hand on it to calculate the winner -- GPS is not necessary. Watch holder stands at the "finish line" of course). 4: Grass & weed challenge (place all three trucks, one at a time, in such a position that they'll have to traverse progressively taller grass and possibly face off with dangerous weeds). 5: Doughnut challenge (place all three trucks, one at a time, in such a position that they'll have to do doughnuts on an asphalt or concrete surface). The truck that does doughnuts most easily and prolifically is declared the winner -- the doughnuts can be done in either forward or reverse -- whichever works out better for the individual truck).

70/30 trigger throw is what most racers prefer and what you'd find on high end transmitters. It allows much finer control over the throttle range, as such precision is less critical for braking. You would need to recalibrate the ESC if you're switching between 50/50 and 70/30 modes.

I didn't even know the V01 had a metal body when I ordered mine! I was so surprised and happy! They all have different motors in them though! I think the 12428 has a 540, the jjrc has a 390, the Virhuck has a 380.

3-way crawl-off! Consisting of several main events. Chalk lines at 0 and 100ft on that asphalt and drag race. Speed climb from road edge to the top of the hill at the big tree, up to 4 attempts, take best time. Kenevil-Ramp jump over your other RC trucks, start with two or three, add one each jump until you can't make it over any more.

Y'all should do all three, all very similar. Maybe get a stack of cups. Definitely do the ramp! Then have them land and plow through some packing peanuts - I think that'll be cool to see. I like the look of this truck, the shinny red. I have both Deadbolts and got a hitch receiver for one, plan on making a trailer to haul the Cajun Comander. Thought that'll be good enough for me, but I might have to get this one too.
@Thecaptnjp6 жыл бұрын
Hi my friends! Here's my crazy idea - How about setting up a launching ramp on cement or smooth pavement, determine a distance away that each truck reaches top speed when it reaches the ramp. Of course, to measure the top height that each truck achieves, a hovering drone (like your Spark) off to the side could document it - and would be really cool to do some slow-mo of the lauch, etc. Then for landing area, probably an area like tallish grass to soften it somewhat. Take good care! JP

I'm a bit late to this video but really enjoyed it. I have just treated myself to the newer upgraded Feiyue FY03H brushless version of this buggy. @didactylos4diddy4746 жыл бұрын
It's a good truck with a better controller than the 12428 but I don't see any advantage of having the metal body. Tool kit is nice though Not being a basher, I'm not that bothered by relative top speeds and the speed switch has little relevance for me. The shocks _look_ exactly the same which means it will need oil filled ones fitted and probably, long-term, will need transmission fixes and replacements. I use my 12428 as a light trail truck and at walking pace, with the throttle trim turned way down, get 30+ minutes from the stock li-ion battery which equates to about a mile of fairly easy trailing. If this or any of the other similar trucks can beat that I'd be interested..... However, in your current circumstances, I don't suggest and would not advise that such a test is carried out for a while yet :)

Good job on trying to compare model clones. More of this plz. But one complaint on Nate.. i dont see 2 speed setups. As far as the car reacts in the video the switch just resets the "Zero on Bind" so u can get more precision in the 70/30 on the throttle uphill
