This is the "Momo-banger" version of the song. It was a special performance for Momometal's birthday that allowed her to take the lead for the second half of the song. It's also been done when Moametal and Yuimetal had birthdays around their concert dates. Normally Su-Metal sings the entire song.

Great reaction. 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday, but it is also a coming of age thing. 15 is significant in Japan as compulsory education also ends, so the girl is realising life will never be the same. She is having to grow up, she will no longer be considered just a child and her first 15 years passed so quickly, so she etching this special night into her heart so she will never forget. The song was recorded early in 2012. Su-metal (lead singer) was 14, Yuimetal and Moametal were both 12, nearly 13. For an earlier live performance abr metal has a high quality video for Live at Legend 1997 (Su's 16th birthday concert in December 2013). Momobanger is one of the special versions of 'Headbanger' from special occasions. The Legend D concert in December 2012 for Su-metal's own 15th birthday and the Legend 1997 concert for her 16th both started with a (very obviously and deliberately lip-synced) dance remix version ('Headbanger - Night of 15 Re-Mix'). At concerts on or near their own 15th birthdays in 2014 Yui (in Paris) and Moa (in Cologne) took over lead vocals for 'Headbanger' half way through when Su handed them the mic and stand - she took their place in the choreo. Only fancam videos exist for those performances. The same thing happened in 2019 at the Legend M concert celebrating Moametal's 20th birthday. Moa once again took over lead vocals after Su handed her the mic and stand - and the lyrics were changed to "...this special night of my 20th..." as that is when you are officially an adult in Japan. What you watched here was the special performance in March this year at the Legend MM concerts celebrating Momometal's 21st birthday we got her version on the day before her 21st (she was not an official member the year before so she did it to mark the last day when she was still 20).

Yokohama Arena, capacity about 17,000. This was the birthday concert for Momometal (Momoko Okozaki). These big stage shows are usually only done in Japan. They have done two big arena shows outside of Japan (LA Forum and Wembley) but usually the shows outside of Japan are more normal stage shows. Next year though they have an arena tour in Europe and are expected to bring the full stage show. By tradition each of the ladies takes the lead on Headbanger on their birthday. The song is about a 15 year old girl going to her first metal concert. This show was Momo's 21st birthday. Just a few more details: Babymetal's shows in Japan are always sold out and tickets are sold by a lottery. The largest crowd they have played to in a one man show was 55,000 in the Tokyo Dome in 2016. They sold it out two nights in a row. Babymetal has been "big" since about 2014 when they released their first album, they started playing 10,000+ arenas in late 2013.
@AldoGuerraALDO-METALАй бұрын
They also changed the lyrics a bit. The song was originally performed on Su-Metal's 15th birthday, thus the song had the lyrics , "on this 15th". It was changed to "on this 20th". THIS song was performed on Momoko's last day as a 20 year old, as her 21st birthday was the very next day. Legend MM concert was a two day concert.

My wife and I and two of our friends took some time off of our jobs to travel to Japan and take in a few concerts, namely Nemophila at Budokan, BAND-MAID at Zepp Yokohama, and two days of Babymetal at Yokohama Arena. Babymetal was exhausting but so much fun! For this performance, if you were at the back of the arena looking at the stage, we were at the 10:30 position. We'll be seeing them again on 11/23 in Cincinnati; we got VIP first entry tickets, so we'll have to sit through the opening act - someone called Scene Queen - and then it'll be Babymetal time.

I really love your reactions. You feel the core of BABYMETAL values! (I am a 76 year old Japanese and am sensitive to some folks that do not see their core values.) At the concert, right before the song started, there was a lore about how the FOX GOD sent MOMO to the metal world, and the world turned Momo Color ("MOMO" = "PEACH" color in Japan, and is "PINK" in the West) The arm bands fans were given upon entry suddenly lit up a pink color! At BABYMETAL shows, only white, blue and red had been used (I think) so this pink color shocked everyone. (A good friend of mine was fortunate to have been there!) Regarding being single.... Please take a number and get in line which probably circles the globe! 😝 🦊

I'm just living my secluded life in Alabama in the spring of 2022 when I clicked on a suspicious looking video that turned out to be Babymetal playing "Ijime, Dame, Zettai". That performance turned my life upside-down! I had not been a metal fan since the mid to late 80's, because I just got tired of being at shows with 100% guys all dressed in black. Conversely, I hated going to clubs where the women only wanted to dance to thump-thump-thuimp DJ remix bullshit. Now, because of that Babymetal video, I have a whole new world of rock and metal music led by females who genuinely love it just like I do! I traveled to Louisville to catch my first Babymetal show at the Louder Than Life festival last year, which also featured Hanabie. So much fun!! I just returned from my second Babymetal show in south Florida. Over the past two years, I also saw superb shows from Band-Maid, Otoboke Beaver (which left me with a bloody shirt and looking for my shoes multiple times), and the band that has joined my all-time favorite list, LOVEBITES!!! Now I am planning a journey to Japan next April, so hopefully some good shows will align with my schedule while I am there. Thank you, Babymetal!!

Haha, good one fellas! Momometal goes from Princess Peach into Momozilla in a split second 🤣. I had the pleasure of witnessing this absolute classic this past Friday in DC (the standard version). While Babymetal's stage shows won't be elaborate on tour versus their Japanese Arena shows, they and the Kami Band absolutely bring the energy non-stop. Their US tour set is 12 songs, ~1 hour 15 mins, and they go hard the entire time. Also, "You're telling me there's a chance?!" - MXR tryna rob the cradle, LOL 🤣. "Momobanger" was on March 2nd, 2024, "20 Night" (Day 1) of Legend MM. The following day, "21 Night" (Day 2) is Momo's 21st birthday. Suggestions: *Metali (Legend MM):* If you want to see more of the band (Kami West). *Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014):* Band showcase (Kami East), and SlipKnot, but cute. *Akatsuki (Budokan 2014):* Would you like your "love ballads" with a side of blast beats? *Road of Resistance (Official Live):* Babymetal's staple show closer for the past decade, and an amazing anthem (still their closer on the current US tour). The show is from Jan 2015. Look forward to more Babymetal! 🤘🦊

"Metal and Happiness, and they bring both of them up" is such a great way to say what BM does, thank you! The iconography you noticed are foxes, they are everywhere and in everything from Babymetal. When they started, (to make a very long story short), they were part of a larger JPop idol group named Sakura Gakuin, and when they were introduced to metal they thought the "devil horns" fans made were shadow puppets of foxes. Their music director incorporated that into their early songs/performances/stages and it stuck. It's everywhere, from them making fox symbols as part of their choreography through 30' tall statues on stage and everything in between.

Great reaction again! And yes, if you have any questions about Babymetal, please don't hesitate to ask! You will be thoroughly informed. 😎 I hope you do a guide someday. They are truly the manifestation of metal and happiness. There is no negativity to be found anywhere in Babymetal, and if you ever watch them during interviews, they are (and have always been) very polite, humble and appreciative towards their fans. They go all out like this in Japan, and I've only seen them in a very small venue here in Denmark, but believe Me, that has a special charm as well. We were naturally very close to the girls and the Kamis, and their smiles and energy blasted the whole crowd. And they always give 100%, whether it's in front of 2000 or 20000. Long live Babymetal! 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻

Hahaha, GREAT reaction! 🤣 Yeah, for sure everybody in the crowd fell in love with this (and maybe her 😉) IMHO the most awesome version of the song! Her entrance was spectacular, descending from the ceiling of the arena on that little platform... they did this a second time at that concert, but for another song, "Meta Taro", and the whole crowd (!) was glowing. PINK! 😁(Every person received a bracelet on entry, the bracelet contained a remote controlled light. Three colours, white, blue, and pink). It was such a great concert, I watched the concert videos for several days on repeat! There was some debate in The One (BABYMETAL´s fandom) about Momoko possibly becoming the third member. She was one of the three backup dancers, who filled in Yuimetal´s spot in the choreography, beginning in 2019, after Yuimetal left BABYMETAL due to health issues in 2018. The other two backup dancers were Riho Sayashi and Kano Fujihira. The backup dancers were called "Avengers", and they filled in the third spot on rotation (Kano never did a concert outside Japan tho). There is a "proto Avenger", her name is Saya Hirai, she filled in the third spot before, and was traded as a possible third full member first (there´s a group photo showing her with a mic. Maybe Koba trolled the fans a little bit with this, we don´t know). After the "Avengers" appeared, there was some buzz about, who could possibly become third member, and some people quite openly disliked Momo. I don´t repeat all the things being said about her, but some of that was simply ridiculous. After she (finally!) was promoted to be a full member, she was quite anxious about the second evening of the PIA Arena MM concert. You reacted to "Megitsune" from that concert, but the first evening. Black-silvery costumes 😉At the end of that evening Momoko was announced as "Momometal", and they wear new, shiny, rainbow-translucent-black coloured costumes on the second evening. She didn´t know if she would be "accepted by the fans", as she said. There´s an interview with BABYMETAL, where she talked about that. Well... no, she was not "accepted". She is LOVED! 😆 We anxiously awaited the "Momobanger", after Momoko was "promoted" to be the third full member, but it wasn´t a given that this would happen. She missed her 20th birthday... but she had to do it! It´s a tradition! The forms must be obeyed! 🤣 Usually, the dancers did sing "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" at their 15th and 20th birthday (special ages in Japan). As Yuimetal left in 2018, she couldn´t do it for her 20th birthday (which is a pity... I would have loved to hear her doing her proper metal scream once again!). She did it for her 15th birthday in Paris, France tho. There´s only fancam footoage available. Moametal did it two times, for her 15th birthday in Cologne, Germany (fancam footage only), and for her 20th birthday in Nagoya, her hometown (HQ video available). You should watch her 20th birthday version, too! She´s a fabulous singer by herself! After that, compare it to her 15th birthday version in private. You´ll be surprised, how well she sang already, being just 15 years old. Momometal´s version happened at the Yokohama Arena (Yokohama is her hometown), and on the last day she was 20 years old. The next evening they celebrated Momometal´s 21st birthday 😊Yokohama Arena is an Arena BABYMETAL played quite often in the past. You could watch "The One" Live, Yokohama Arena 2015, to see Yuimetal, and another spectacular stage setup at that arena😉 Japanese BABYMETAL crowds are simply god level. They are always on point, always, and anywhere in Japan (there are several other arenas/venues BABYMETAL played quite often, Saitama Super Arena, Makuhari Messe...). It´s such a joy to watch them!

Their performance in 2016 Tokyo Dome had an attendance of 55,000 for two days totalling 110,000. The only song available in KZbin from that concert is Megitsune which you guys already heard and reacted to the PIA ARENA 2023 one. This is the Momo-banger version. The original is Su-metal all throughout and since this song is about a young girl going to her's first metal concert they sometimes switch it up. Legend MM is Momo-metal's birthday concert. I'm surprised it isn't requested more as a special reaction, as it's historic. That is the video to show to critics who insist they are a J-pop group doing metal. As you can clearly see in that video, they had already dedicated their lives (souls even) to metal music. The Night of 15 mix of Headbanger (by Yuyoyuppe) is fire as well, even if it's an EDM remix, it still kicks ass like metal.

Thanks from Japan 有難う 💛。 Juxtaposition of brutal growl and overly cutesy (intentionally anime-like) voice by Momometal. New ammunition of BABYMETAL. Momoko cannon loaded with sheer dark explosives and a warhead made of shiny and bubbly metal. I witnessed this performance and got crushed into pieces, smilingly of course, at the venue and was also honored to have a chance to celebrate Momoko's last day of her 20 years of age. BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 69-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / old funk lover) We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)

I was at Yokohama Arena for this performance and it was wild to see in person. We expected that Momo was going to take over the vocal for this song because they have done it in the past for the girl's birthdays, but we didn't expect her to growl! The show is usually around 90 minutes, and they maintain that level of intensity for the whole show. Even as a fan in the crowd, the show is exhausting. I have no idea how the girls are able to do it show after show. Although this show was held in Japan, the Kami Band for this performance was the American musicians. The musicians (from left to right on stage) are: Chris Kelly (guitars), Clint Tustin (bass), Anthony Barone (drums), and CJ Masciantonio (guitars). Chris is the vocalist of the band Hillhaven, Clint is guitarist for ERRA, and Anthony is the drummer for All That Remains when they're not playing with Babymetal.

Some more intense than others. Singapore sang along to all the songs, IN JAPANESE. They just finished a South American tour, first time in SA, and the audiences brought it, let me tell you. I love the positive energy you guys bring to your reactions. Totally appropriate for Babymetal who always bring out the happy in listeners. You've already gotten comments from some of the BM heavy hitters so I'll try not to duplicate what they've said with just a couple little observations and thoughts. First off Su's (lead vocals) mic holder is totally iconic and-I believe-first appeared in the MV release of this song back in June of 2012. Su and the other ladies only use this for Headbanger. And yes that was/is Momoko. The bowing is an homage to "Hedoban" the Kami/god of headbanging. Back in 2014 on their first tour abroad Babymetal appeared before a notoriously cranky crowd of 55,000 metalheads. Who by the end of BM's set were yelling for more. The girls were really nervous, not knowing how the crowd would react but they just slayed. The girls/ladies have faced a fair share of adversity yet have always soldiered on. They are all troopers. I'd like to recommend the closing song from this legendary performance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKCQkJaYm8mlj6c

You should have done a triple reaction (not like you would have known yet😁) or do a double next time. Same song but the original version with Su for the entire song, then Moa version as you just did Momo version. 🤘🦊🤘 Lol calling that guy a slacker... I know it's in good fun, but BABYMETAL fans range from kids to grand parents so some might have trouble bending down and such ;)

If you watch some of the older Headbanger performances they are even more lively. I've noticed they've cut back a lot as the girls get older

With BabyMetal it is always a Fox. The Fox God sent BabyMetal down from Heaven to save Metal. BabyMetal are Ninjas, Jedi, and Anime, they probably stealthed their way on stage, they have lots of superpowers.

Great reaction🎉 You would be able to still buy tickets for the concert if it’s not sold out. Better check out. Pls react to B x M x C, Road of Resistance live in Japan, PA PA YA feat. F Hiro, Arkadia and Kingslayer by BMTH feat Babymetal . There are many great Metal groups in Japan. So I recommend Maximum the hormone “Alien”, “ Yoshu Fukushu”and JILKA “VENOM “,BLVCK “, “OVERALL “

The symbol is the fox, but the story behind this is thought to be that when moa-metal was about 11 and babymetal just started she could not make the horn symbol for metal, and put her fingers out making the fox symbol. The rest is history....

The thing with the stage is. The venues are often quite big. They had one show where they really flew over their fans. As Koba explained, they are producing so few shows that they don't know what is considered impossible. So there are companies in Japan that try to sell them impossible things. One of these impossible Devices is their Crawler. It drives on rails can be up to 30 Kilometers per Hour fast and can carry a stage for three people. It can carry a Hydraulik for the correct height, Fog machines and a few Lasers. And this allows Babymetal to get through their fans. In the beginning it was considered impossible, but in the meantime it was probably one of their best ideas, when we consider in how many Videos they used this Crawler. And this is the reason for this stage. It is a Crawler without tires.

More More More. You guys are great reactors and this nearly 60 yr old from Australia can't get enough of Babymetal. I look forward to the next one. Momo was 'showing her fangs' with the growls and she also does it in Ratatata. Thank you Princess Peach. Please bring it again on the next album.

So glad to see you sought this one and clearly enjoyed the hell out of it. :) Great reaction! If you would like to see the two different bands, I will suggest for East Kami Band, Yava! (Fox Festival 2017 Live / Kami band intro) kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3PScn9smaiKfJYsi=b5IXg1bVsBOVqyN0 . For the West Kami Band, Yava! Legend MM (western kami intro) kzbin.info/www/bejne/in6llKSAo6icb9ksi=WOy5DeHjqw-4PB7- Same song, but with the two different Kami bands doing solo intros, and Yuimetal in the 2017 version, while it's Momometal in the Legend MM version. Yava! happens to be one of my fave songs from BM. Hope you enjoy!

Notice how fans fold their fingers when they lift the two outermost fingers (rocker goat), the middle and ring fingers touch the thumb and it looks like a fox's face. It looks so cute in Japanese. Обратите внимание как фанаты складывают пальцы на руке когда поднимают два крайних пальца (рокерская коза) средний и безымянный пальцы косаются большого и это выглядит как морда лисы. Как это по Японски мило выглядит.

Please forgive some of the commenters that are too defensive of BabyMetal. For several years there were "reactors" that were deliberately saying the very worst things possible about BabyMetal. Racist and misogynist "reactors". Gaslighting with "constructive criticism". Gaslighting with compliments thrown in to a bunch of insults. Extremely effective TROLL reactors that preyed on the fans of BM and also other all femal Japanese bands. For real, no lie. So please forgive the past fans that are too quick to judge. Good news, I never see those troll reactors anymore. I am so very proud of the Americans from every state and county that immediately loved world Rock and Metal!!! You guys deserve a sub!!!
