Cream - White Room - 1968.
• Cream - White Room ...
(Belated) Bicycle Day series (Part 1, 6 of 8) Cream was quite possibly the world’s first rock supergroup, formed in 1966 and composed of guys widely considered the best in jazz and blues rock in England: bassist/vocalist Jack Bruce, guitarist Eric Clapton and drummer Ginger Baker (“the cream of the crop”). Bruce was in a previous band of Baker’s and was not only fired by him, but supposedly was driven off at knifepoint, so it’s not that surprising the group only lasted a few years (though they were so successful they still begrudgingly toured after breaking up). This song is from their third album, 1968’s “Wheels of Fire,” which featured a number of songs written by poet Pete Brown, including this one. It’s a pretty famous one; I was surprised it hadn’t been requested before. June 30, 2022 at 2:53 pm
