This movie is still great, saw it before I eventually saw Grease, so nostalgia wise this is my fondest memory of Olivia and John in movies.

Nice reaction guys - ONJ really did have one of the best voices, I love the way she double, triple or quadruple tracks her vocals to get that ethereal sound - If there was any singer who could harmonise it was Olivia - That is why her duets were always top notch. Glad you are getting to enjoy some of her work and keeping her spirit and joy alive.

What a great reaction and you said it well when you said there will never be anyone like Olivia Newton-John. She was one of a kind and we miss her so much. May she rest in peace

Awesome reaction! Seeing and appreciating her & her talent the way it should be. Ya know, the movie "Two of a Kind" wasn't "Grease", but it's just not as bad as people tend to say it is. A few slow parts, but these two are such eye candy to stare at. And there's some legit very funny scenes and even a extremely tense scene at the end, kudos to ONJ & JT for their acting! All I can say is, thank you for viewing and please discover some more ONJ music! :)

For some reason, there is one scene in "Two Of A Kind" that has stuck in my mind. It's where Debbie (ONJ) flashes the robbery cash in front of her cat and says (with her Aussie accent) "chicken livers forevah!" Silly but that's how my mind works.

Ahh you guys did a great reaction. Loved the look and the sound and especially loved Olivia in this video. She was stunning. You totally said it correctly, There is nobody like Olivia Newton John and there will never be another Olivia Newton John. RIP ONJ. Listen to a little more love.

Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta had a duet on the soundtrack that was a minor hit. It's called "Take a Chance," and you guys may like it! By the way, I still have my copy of this soundtrack on vinyl which I bought in 1983, when I was 14 years old.

I was so fortunate to have seen ONJ twice in concert. Once at Sydney Opera House, in WEC and guest of honour at BeeGees one night only concert for opening of Stadium Australia. Such a beautiful person inside and out and a great loss to the world. I have seen this film and thoroughly enjoyed it.

OK, my friends, I am A HUGE FAN of your channel! Your commentary is awesome and you crack me up! I love that you review such a diverse range of talent and seem to appreciate everything. Olivia peaked way before your time and it is so good to see that her music lives on. She was an angel on Earth and a MONSTER on the charts. She charted 40 singles on the top 100 in her 60-year career, Beyonce, 20. Dig in! AND starred in Grease which made her the most famous woman in the world from 1977-1979. She will be a legend forever and an inspiration for every tween/teen that streams this classic!

Interesting fact: The movie was originally supposed to be titled "The Second Time Around," and this song was the title song to the movie (even though the title of the song isn't "The Second Time Around," the line in the chorus is what would make it the title song of the movie.). At the last minute they decided to change the title to "Two of a Kind." I had the vinyl soundtrack, too. The cover opens up and is just close up of John and Olivia's heads/faces. It is some really beautiful, stunning, and raw photography of the two of them. Their duet, "Take a Chance" is completely different from "You're the One That I Want," but is really beautiful, and was a hit on adult contemporary radio.

(This is RockerJay) I'm so glad you guys enjoyed it! I love everything about this song and video. Of course, it's very nostalgic to me, but it was just good early 80s pop/rock! I actually showed your reaction to my 67-year-old mom and she loved it, too! As for the movie, the chemistry was there and they were both awesome, but the writing and production were awful. The music is the best part of it. I'll have one more ONJ reaction coming your way very soon. It will be magical, trust me. 😁

With the inception of MTV, movie studios discovered a huge opportunity to do crossover promotion of soundtrack songs and the movies from which they came, so they would make videos to movie songs that were either completely comprised of clips from the movie, or combined unique footage of the artist intermingled with footage from the movie, as with this video. As a result, movie soundtrack albums sold in huge numbers back then, and movies were often made more popular BECAUSE of their soundtracks and the numerous popular artists that had songs featured on them.

Her guitarist/band leader for the past 20-25 years was Andy Timmons, formerly of the glam metal band Danger Danger. Incredible guitarist who mostly does instrumental albums now, but theres a live version of this from 2012 i believe where he is on guitar and its a little more "Rocked up" for lack of a better term. And she sounds fantastic as usual. It is a fantastic liver version.

Love the reaction & the song. Love the movie too, saw it in the theatre and I liked it then. It’s not a musical, rom-com with an angel, a devil & a heist. It was unique, quirky and fun at a time when that wasn’t appreciated. The draws were early Tom Cruise (All the Right Movies released at the same time), John Hughes & Rambo type action films.

I'm pretty sure ABBA did the picture to video transition in at least a few of their music videos in the 70s and 80s. I think Bucks Fizz had done so as well in theirs in the 80s.

This movie “Twist of Fate” was a box office disaster. The movie studios wanted to pair up Olivia and John for another movie, following the smashing box office success of Grease. But Twist of Fate failed. But the song was a huge hit for. Olivia. I can’t believe she left this earth, R.I.P. Olivia Thank you for your talent as a singer and actress. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Banger of a song, dud of a movie, even with ONJ and JT. Their chemistry was a very real thing, and is really the only redeeming thing about the film, which was just a terrible script that they simply couldn't rise above. ONJ and JT do have a very nice (very 80s) duet on the soundtrack called Take A Chance.

Two of a Kind is not a sequel to Grease. This is its own story. She plays a bank teller pursuing a job as an actress, and he plays a con man. God decides that the human race will come to an end unless his angel can make 2 people fall in love unconditionally, and Olivia and John are his choices.

The beach Boys are an acquired taste. I like their songs but they are not a band I'd play a lot. They are just a type of band I have to be in a certain mood to enjoy. To me, a lot of they're songs sound the same. Same beats, same falsetto tones. They're good, and classic, but just not an everyday type of music for me.

@jameswarner31702 жыл бұрын
The film wasn’t that great but I do think the song for what it was was one of her best because it was the farthest she went from if not for you. Can you believe the same person that sang if not for you actually pulled off the song and video twist of fate reaching number five on the charger and number one in Brazil?! That’s pretty amazing!
