Push is the only artist Ive ever listened to that raps about the same thing for 80% of his tracks but it still hits 100% of the time.

Ok so this might be long but follow me for a second here. Song is called Nosetalgia (play on words for nostalgia and crack/cocaine) Pusha T and Kendrick both tell their versions of crack and coke and how they look back at it. Pusha layers in all the baby powder references and how he sold it. His verse is 36 bars. Kendrick also talks about it getting out of the crack era with his music. Drops all these 9 and 10s references which add up to 87 and also 9+10 is 19 which gives us 1987 (the year he was born) breaks down the 36 zips which is a brick. His verse is also 36 bars. Which makes that last line when he says every verse is a brick your son dope….just hit so much cause their 36 bars is quite figuratively a brick. Every time I listen to it I’m blown away

Pusha T always so clever and creative with the bars he uses about drug transactions and Kendrick is just a dope all around artist which makes this song 100 times better

Kendrick is one of the best to ever do it and I LOVE his verse here but yeah that Pusha T verse is an all timer for me. Push is a great, fairly underrated rapper in general, but this verse is like a culmination of everything great about him imo.

Pusha It's bars are relentless in every song. One of the dope details of this song is that both Push and Kendrick use references to the same movie ( Boyz in the Hood) to connect their verses. Pusha line (If he rides he rides) and Kendrick ( you want to see a dead body) were lines that Ice Cube's character Doe Boy used in the movie.

@Sm0k3 Drake fan entered the chat. Lol. The worst part is that you stans focus on the son but missed the entire point of the song. Push explain how Drake grew abandones by his father then Drake went on to abandon his mother for a relationship with his father then repeated the cycle by abandoning his son. It was an indictment on Drake character as a man.
@zeinaaa3 жыл бұрын
@@gtjohns220 there’s no point in explaining. These kids know nothing about bars. Drake can’t fuck with push lyrically. Real ones know.

Kendrick is the epitome of what an all around Savage MC is. He was raised in the toughest part of the West Coast, and he falls in the rare 1% of writing skills. It's the same reason that made Pac so great. He was thugish but could tell a story better than anyone else. Opposed to your run of the mill gangster rappers that rely on their reputation more than their ability to write Bars! In the 90s you only had a few styles of Rap. Mostly It was East vs West, and if I had to sum up Kendricks style based on that, I'd say he was the perfect mix of West Coast Gangster meets East Coast Lyricist!
