Metal Detecting a 170 year old Abandoned Farmhouse for Things Lost Over Time

So this week we metal detect an abandoned 1850's farmhouse smack dab in the middle of huge crop fields flanking it from all sides. The fields are still planted, but the farmhouse itself has about an acre or two of grass surrounding it which oftentimes will have a huge plethora of cool items lost over the decades like coins, buttons, kids toys; heck almost anything! Places like these are often the most fun to detect because you can find almost anything, and with a little luck we do. So lets dive in and see what's hiding in the ground of this once bustling family farmhouse!

The thing you call a double decker bus is what we'd call a 'coach' in the UK. Busses are a different thing to a coach over here...although, a double decker coach, especially from the period that toy seems to be from, would, indeed, be considered quite 'fancy' it has to be said... executive almost 😅😉 It even says the word 'coach' on the underside too if you take a another look ☺️

I just found your channel yesterday. After bingeing for a few hours, I am fascinated with the items you find. Mostly because I grow up in Bucks county (Doylestown). I was just wondering what the entry level of commitment is to get started metal detecting? I now live on an old farm that was converted into a development and I am backed up to where they used to dump everything from the farm. They cleaned out the big stuff many years ago, but I am sure there is still some stuff left behind. (PS my favorite episodes are the witch jars and the triangle lock. I am more drawn to personal stuff than coins.)
