This video shows a metal detecting hunt I did at a natural spring in Florida. I used my small hand held Vibra-Tector 730 and did some snorkeling. It was a beautiful spring and I had a blast! Enjoy!

Thanks for the tour of the springs! I wondered if you saw any "tropical fish" in there, as opposed to native fish?
@SheDetector

No problem! And thanks for watching! I didn't see anything that seemed tropical as in the pretty colors but they could have been hiding. :) Maybe in the spring itself.

Really nice video of the water and the water is really so clear. I lived in Sarasota 13 years and the streams are brackish and have alligators. So be careful. Great video of the water!

Thank you! Yea, I couldn't believe it. My first time seeing a spring. :) Yikes! I'm sure there are gators if you travel towards the ocean off this river. Luckily, they weren't near me. :)

Good morning Like he(Jerry B) said Vibra-Tector is impressive I have thought of them as a glorified stud finder. And Simon B as well, I think that it would be worth returning with proper gear and a friend to watch over you and get in there and hunt. I have no idea what you might find if any think, but my gut tells me that this place, if it hasn't been hit hard may cough up so very old relics and perhaps coins and more. I have only hunted around a large spring and found plenty of relics and so many pennies it was hard to find anything else(I am not a diver but I think this place had been treated like a wishing well for years and years) And as far a gators go the water is so clear if you pay attention to your surroundings not to much of a worry, snakes on the other hand, well when I lived in Georgia I only saw 1 gator and lost count of the snakes I have come across in the woods and swamps of S Georgia and N Florida. Very well done video. Now you know I'm gonna ask ware are your gloves???????? You did dig or more likely swept way the sand to find but my worry is the broken clear glass or digging with fingers to pull out a piece of interesting metal and it bites you. :) Just saying. We like your videos and don't want you to get a bad cut and have to heal instead of hunting.
@SheDetector
@SheDetector 8 жыл бұрын
Morning! Hahaha, I'm sure it would find studs no problem! :) Oh yes, I would love to dive that spring. I've been thinking about it! :D I wanted to swim in there but was to chicken to try it AND I had trouble staying down. I would go down about 5 feet and spring right back to the surface. I need a weight belt for sure. Yea, you could be right about that. There are Indian artifacts being found all around this area for miles. Yea, that's one good thing about the super clear water is nothing can sneak up on you. Hahaha. Thank you! Lol, believe it or not, I had them in my digger pouch but I didn't wear the pouch and never went back for the gloves. :/ Yea, I know what you mean. That would ruin my day for sure!

@SheDetector
@SheDetector 7 жыл бұрын
It's wonderful! A perfect tool for snorkeling or checking in rocky areas and such. It's good to 30 feet deep I think. :) I would say 3-4 inches for most targets. For larger targets like cans, you'll get about 5-6 inches.

May I ask how you hold your action cam? Is it on your head, arm, or do you hold it?
@SheDetector
@SheDetector 7 жыл бұрын
For this video I had it mounted using a wrist mount while detecting. When I went into the spring, I was just holding it with my hand. For most of my beach hunts, I have the camera mounted on the bill of my hat. The ones where I'm in the water, I'm wearing a chest harness. :)

Have you tried using the 730 on land digs with any success?
@SheDetector
@SheDetector 7 жыл бұрын
Hahaha! I did try using it on land, when I first bought it. It didn't work out so great because of the curved handle. You pretty much have to keep the coil flat on the ground which is damn near impossible to do while standing. You have to crawl around on your hands and knees. Doing that on land is no fun, trust me. Hahaha! It was shortly after that I bought my Sea Hunter. But, I suppose if you're using it in conjuction with a full size detector, you can use it as a pin pointer. But a 4 inch plate is a pretty big area when trying to pin point. Plus, the 730 is a PI unit which will fight with all other detectors. You'll have to turn your machine off and then turn the 730 on.

I went to Rainbow Springs in the Rainbow river 30 years ago. It was January during the cold snap that actually was to blame for freezing the o rings on the space shuttle Challenger that exploded after lift off in 1986. The air temp was in the low 40's and the river seemed warm at first at 72 degrees (must be the temp of all those springs) but after an hour or so, you start getting a little chilly without a wet suit. 300 feet visibility--the purest water in the world. Near Dunnellon FL.
@SheDetector
@SheDetector 8 жыл бұрын
Oh very nice! Oh, well that's not nice. :/ Yea, they can range in temp but usually in the low 70's. I made it about 2 hours, with a wetsuit, before I had to get out of the water. Yea, I'm not surprised the visibility was that far. So pretty.

Also, I bought a Vibra-Quatic 2 a couple of months ago...you're right they are PI machines...anyways got to do some river hunting with it down in Austin...I like it, seems like a good reliable tool.

Aww boo snow! :) Hahaha, well I'm glad you like them. I'll keep making them so you don't freeze up there. I'll send sunshine to you through my videos. :DOh very nice! It's such a nice little toy/tool. :) Oh very cool. I've not hunted outside of Florida before but maybe one day! :D

We had snow a couple weeks ago but it melted and now it's in the low teens (Celsius). Was out yesterday (about 7C) and found a nice ladies sterling silver ring :) Today was about 13C - beautiful day. 72F = bath temperature LOL ;)

Wow! That's a bummer about the snow already. :( But at least it didn't stick around to long. Nice job on the silver ring! :D Hahaha, yea, what can I say? I'm a wimp! :D

Wow! what great place.Beginning of the vid was a little scary though, looked like a scene from deliverance. If that spring was here in jersey you can bet there would be two hillbilly's with a shot gun and knife waiting for me to park the kayak so they could get me to squeal like a pig. And I say that with all due respect. lol Alligators and snakes would be the least of my worries.

Tarpon Springs? Isn't there an alligator attraction there? Might be a few around you? That round thing looks like a BB from an air rifle. Warm today and sunny up here in Niagara Falls Ontario. Unusual for November. Surprised so many coins, maybe people toss them in for a wish.
@SheDetector
@SheDetector 8 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, there sure is! :) I'll be looking for gators next time I hunt any spring because they apparently hang out around springs. :) Yea, you could be right about the BB. I didn't know they were that small. Warm, way up there? That doesn't seem right. Hahaha! Yea, I hadn't thought about that. Could be right though. :)

Hey girl! Just wanted to say I loved this one with one of our springs we have here in Florida. Such a great part of living here besides the beaches. Manatee love the springs in winter time. I live on Melbourne Shores in Melbourne Beach if your ever detecting on east side let me know, I have private beach access and of course the "treasure coast". Have not found a spanish coin yet, but have hope! Lol.. Happy Hunting.. Jules :)

HI! Thanks! I had a great time for sure. Beautiful! Yes, I will have to try to venture up there soon. I'm sure the manatees are hanging out there already! :D Oh awesome, I will for sure. I'm going to hunt the east coast one day! Hahaha. Well, I'll bring the hubby, I'm sure he'll find an entire sunken ship after being on your beach for about 10 minutes. Lucky dog.... lol!

That is for sure a BB! Shot many of them through various BB guns I had as a kid! Beautiful springs! I swam in a few while living near Orlando and working at Disney! And yes, the water was cold! I think one of the springs was Rock Springs near Apopka, FL!

Liked the video! I would discourage you from putting coins in a rock tumbler because if you had an old or rare coin, it can degrade the value. Maybe if you used the finest grain grit it would be okay, jewelers used to use ashes. However I'm no expert, so I could be wrong.

Give her a little credit Jason! very few clad coins are worth more than there face value unless they are mint flaws so most of us tumble them to clean them up and put them in rolls and off to the bank. Old coins or silver never go into the tumbler for cleaning.

Dear. queen of the watermelons .. in fresh water wow .. ha you are star in mission impossible 5 or Rambo 5 movies yes yes you did it .. you know the area same like a paradise silent and wonderful . in my opinion in fresh water and clear same like this with good glass you can find a lot of treasures like a mobile phones or sun glasses and knifes or any so it's easy to find many things ... next time please go to the old frames area there you can find old coins and maybe old rings ... God bless you and your all family. ( IN GOD WE TRUST ) regards ... have a good life .

The CZ would of worked great there in Disc Mode, Looks like good ring country, cold water always gets the rings off due to the fingers getting smaller. Junk in good because it means not so many others have been there, just a little more work. Too bad you can't go back.
@SheDetector
@SheDetector 8 жыл бұрын
Yea, no problem with depth either because the limestone keeps targets from sinking to far. :) Right you are! I'll be going back for sure. Probably with Ringer. :) Yea, I think you're right about that. With the amount of bottle caps I found, there's bound to be good stuff there too. :) Oh I'll be going back! Not sure when though. Maybe over Thanksgiving. :)
