Stew, You Sir are a diehard digging in that. I used to dig in the winter months too here in NC and found only two areas that were soft enough to dig. In the woods where the top layer was mostly pine straw and/or leaves, and any area that stayed in the sun most of the day. Shady areas in the open were frozen solid. You almost need to be an octopus to carry all of that equipment you have and film too. I'm sure that was a lot of work for you. We appreciate you giving it a try though. I'm right there with you on the new fangled hi-tech equipment of today. I still remember when I started detecting I had a bulky Sony Mavica camera that held a full sized floppy disc. I could tpop the disc out and put it into the disc drive on my computer. LOL. Those days are gone. OK, sorry for rambling, now back to my 8-tracks.

lol, you gave me my laugh for the day. I couldn’t imagine carrying cameras like that. Thanks for sharing.

That looks cold n rough Stew! But I step outside somedays and think yea I could go detect in this weather till l get out there for the first couple minutes. I think I’ll just make my maps and plans for spring summer and fall screw winter unless I’m south of Tennessee!. Which I may drive down there in a couple weeks! Keep warm!!

I got cold just watching that lol Been really cold and snowy down here in my part of the state too. Been wanting to get my detector out too, but think I'll wait. Suppose to warm up into the 40s by Friday I think.
