Perfect Saturday morning viewing here on a cold, wet & miserable Essex morning! I know where I’d rather be…..that looked like a heap of fun Andrew mate, complemented with some superb footage from the Editor in Chief…loved the fade to black as the footsteps continue Viv!! Always great to answer an enigma in the fields, and never a bad day with silver in the pocket on your way home! Love that little coil & your discrimination mate!! Top work as always by Team CBK!! Lots of love from Blighty! Enjoy those 37 degrees!! Not jealous at all 😉 x

Oooohh I love the iron bias at zero… and living on the edge there with a recovery speed of 8, but perfect for that trashy site and shallow targets. That beautiful 6” coil is a sniper amongst the trash. Lovely. And a camera person… Viv the legend. Very zen, like a tai chi peaceful flow… I feel very calm after watching this one. And a cool cicada! Cheers mate

Great tips, Andrew! I’m on about 12 acres of trash with my 6” 600. There ARE good finds here, even though hard hunted in the past. Slowing to a crawl and “Zen-ing” out is the best way to beat the cherry pickers!

Really enjoying yourself in you favorite element Andrew- a bush rubbish dump with your favorite coil-the 6 inch. Some interesting bits coming up with some silver and you solved the padlock mystery. Great filming by Viv as usual and great commentary by you as usual. I've been hearing those cicadas while out detecting, but never actually seen them. Well done.Have a great Christmas.Cheers mate.

Ancora imparo, ever learning, Mr Coffee Bush Kid. Gives ideas to try and tackle the trashy sites, senses tingling, even if ours doesn't have that tingling grip feature. I did sense the diversity of the insect musicians, felt willing enough to note there's acoustic frequency oscillations and trance-setting thrumming going incessantly in the Victorian bush, with or without hordes of humans revering the one person behind an array of knobs, faders and dials. Our usual cicada in the southeastern suburbs is the green-eyed, green bodied and gossamer-clear green-winged Greengrocer Cicada, loved seeing that red-eyed example, characterful! Don't mind the redness of emu optics either. On trashed sites, those marking this and every festive season and the ticking over to a new year, our nearby lovely Harkaway, previously Zion Hill, in 1869 inaugurated the big brass bell, "Concordia", struck annually at 11'59'', December 31, was recast in 1935. The schoolhouse/church long gone, though the community has grown beyond the initial German Lutherans to the general long-standing families, and now newer allotments, crowds, so there can be anything, from right under the belfry, to all roads and reserves within cooee or yodel for 189 years, champagne cork wire and sovereigns, to one cent coins and Wild Turkey screw-caps. Wishing you both a cool Yule, Mr & Mrs Victorian Christmas Bush!, and a magnificently conVivial and 'And'rewn pattering through in 2025. With an unwavering "50" repeating tone, and five bars depth of appreciation, your observant savant idiot... ah, that's not how it goes, yr obsrvnt pal, tempus grex, Gabi of Narre Warren. 🎻🦗

I love detecting rubbish bumps. You have to completely focus on the sounds coming from your detector and what is on the ground. Very therapeutic, head phones on and block out the world for a while.

37C you reckon? Just looked at our long term weather forecast over here in England, and if you can get across in July or August next year, you'll be detecting in your budgie smugglers. Happy Christmas to both you and Viv.

Hi Andrew, I haven’t been out for a swing in a while, but hoping to make use of some time off over the Christmas break to head bush. Wondering if your little measuring spoon is half of a set of sinker casting pliers? We made our own lead sinkers years ago and used them. They had a little cutout on the top edge of each half that when closed formed the hole that you poured the molten lead in. Once the lead cooled and set, you opened the pliers to release the sinker…

G’day Andrew I’m still watching but I did notice when you were setting up the ground balance you didn’t activate the tracking, do you ground balance on the go with the 900 or you just forget to turn it on, just wondering if I’ve missed something here lol
