Kind of where it all began for me.... the parks can be a challenge because of the pure amount of TRASH scattered around but usually between the trash there is always some kind of treasure... whether it be a coin.... piece of jewelry.. or the illusive golden pull tab.. you just never know what you're gonna find!

@@TreasureOutdoors definitely way too much trash. I live in New York State so alot of potential old relics. The oldest coin I've found with a junk detector was an 1803 large cent.

Greeting from Illinois. Yes have Simplex and Minelab 540. Both are strong machines. The cities were founded in 1863 and 1864.

For depth, recovery speed, quality and low cost the 12 kHz Nokta Simplex+ and Quest X10 Pro models are all the detector anyone needs, the higher frequency Nokta Legend and Quest Q30-Q40 models are a waste of money.

Another enjoyable video! I use a Simplex myself. I really like it and I find some good stuff. For instance, earlier today I dug a really jumpy signal. I pulled a buffalo nickel, no date. Pinpointer was going crazy, and 2 clad quarters and a clad dime with the buffalo! Also dug a glass crack pipe, the choreboy filter set my machine off, lol! Cheers from Bridgeport, Connecticut!

There are American military bases in Netherlands. I was stationed there for 4 and 1/2 years. I have a boat load of Dutch coins from when I was there in 72 to 77. some are old, I should look.

Greetings from Serbia friend :) I'm watching your videos and they are amazing! I got my Simplex about 3 months ago and so far i'm digging mostly iron and only one time i have dig one small Roman coin. I'm planing to buy minelab vaniquish 540 or xp orx (both are multi freq). first one cost about 580$ and second one about 780$ in Serbia. What is your opinion about those two? I'm detecting in forests, fields...we do not have beaches in our area...mostly woods. Simplex is my first detector, settings are: Field mode, sens 1 bar from max, iron volume on 1 bar and without GB because ground is (almost) not mineralized. It seems that Field mode is best for depth... any advice for settings? sorry if my English is not so good but i hope you will understand my words. Keep digging :)

When I go to a park ive never been to, I'll swing around a section for 20-30min and not dig anything. Im listening to what the targets are telling me. If every signal is low to mid range, someones been cherry picking hightones. If I hear a full range of tones, then ill hit it and dig anything I hear.

I'm gonna be honest.. I've been using a cheap amazon special for the last 2 years and it's been holding up good. Called something like a "serrated edge digger" it has an orange handle with a green blade.
