@@GeorgeElliott-xp4mh I remember when I first upgraded from a Fisher F22 to my Equinox 600, within a half hour I found a 1910 Barber. I thought it was all going to be so easy! I've worked for every one since then, LOL.

You are so lucky to live in a place where you can detect locally and find silver! Where I live (Phoenix AZ) you really have to do your homework, and a lot of driving to get finds like that. GREAT JOB BTW,!
@digginggopher18 күн бұрын
My area is pretty picked over I guess, I only found silver dime twice and never a quarter or half dime, but one time I pulled out a sterling silver matchsafe, although unfortunately it was in three pieces I also strike out whenever I'm in Toronto ln spots I know other people find silver, I just don't have good luck for old coins, I'd love to be finding them all the time like the people online

You're so right Brian. My son lived in Tucson for a few years and Phoenix for a year. It would be totally different detecting than what I experience. Then again, detecting the East Coast or Europe is totally different as well. I guess you'd have to look for where the prospectors were and hope to score some of their leftovers if you were looking for older stuff. Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!

@@digginggopher You're in Minnesota aren't you gopher? I've had other detectorists in my area tell me our public spots are pretty picked over, but most of my hunting and finds are from parks and school grounds. I just keep looking and finding. But your right, if it's not there, it's simply not there. I used to be on a forum and some of the greatest detectorists who were old timers would say "Research, research, research and Location, location, location. Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!

@brianfalkner108 same for me here in New Mexico a lot of research and windshield time to find a half decent site. In four years of dirt fishing my best silver coin is a no date type one SLQ. Best hobby in the world 😁

I truly hope when you fill in those massive holes it doesn't look like you just tried excavating a grave. ethical plug method please cause nasty digging is what gets our hobby shit down in parks
@dirtlifedetecting16 күн бұрын
Thank you for voicing a concern that is extremely important in our hobby. I take the ethics of metal detecting very seriously and often return many times over years to my hot spots. I certainly wouldn't want them shut down from my ability to hunt. And, I can assure you, when I return there is absolutely no evidence that I've dug literally hundreds of plugs in the past. Partly, I can thank the amazing Iowa soil for helping the grass rebound so well.
