Just yesterday I checked out a pile of red caliche at a construction site. On the ground beside it there were two curious looking rocks. I thought I should take them home. Two pieces of conglomerate. On one side there was a smooth surface of a seam. On the other side are small chips and pieces of white quartz fused to it. It feels too heavy for its size. Last night I put some white quartz rocks in a glass filled with white vinegar. I left it overnight on the warmer plate of my coffee maker. This morning a lot of quartz was dissolved, but no gold fell out yet. I'll try it again tonight with the piece of conglomerate. Hot vinegar dissolves quartz but will not harm gold.

Been watching you long time. You are my very favorite videos. I was a rockhound in Nevada. I also know a lot of areas around Carson City. My old stomping grounds. Went to high school in Gardnerville Minden Nevada. Douglas high as what it was called. Are used to stop through all the mines. Specially over by Yerington. I could to talk like this all night. And then some. Ha ha. 47 years ago is when I move there when all the mines were still uncapped. I will be back soon. Maybe get the chance to meet you. Love the videos you are my favorite. Honey pot: 5 gallon bucket, lined with a trash bag, held in place by water pipe insulation ( use the slot in the pipe insulation to slip over the bucket lip to hold the bag in) Do your thing, tie the bag off and throw into another bucket with a lid. At the end of the day, take this treasure home with you and don’t mistake it for high grade ore bags!

Jeff, have you ever considered taking the coil and electronics box off of that frame and hanging the box off of your shirt, belt, etc., and run that coil by hand? Seems like it would sure give you more room, and it would be easier to get more specific with your search! Just a thought ...

Nice Diggings! I've been panning through some old tellens an some materials left in the ore bins at a old copper ore mine site in NC. Just started an haven't panned alot so far. Maybe one five gal bucket. Lots of minerlization. Lots of mica. But the cool thing is i got a nice garnet in the first pan. Brought home 30 gal of material (very heavy material), half inch an smaller. Mostly fins to one eighth. Thing is im getting lots of garnets in every pan. 5 to 10 some pretty good ones. Size very small to 1/4 inch. Every pan! Having fun with it! Anyway love your channel. Been paying attention Sonny Jim! Learning alot. Things i need to know. Started exploring the USGS site to. Really like the USGS survey maps. Alright then stay away from the covid folks! An give slim a big howdy from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. "So come on! Lets Go!!

The rich people at Myrtle beach are probably losing their gold rings and earrings, that would be a good place to start with a metal detector. I was stationed at Shaw AFB and there's a lot of lakes in SC to metal detect, even the hills.

When I go out here in Yuma AZ I use a hammer drill to bust up the clay for dry washing it's so much easier than the hammer pick and you can work more material
