Metal Detecting in Colonial New England Finding Things We've Never Even Seen Before!

This week I travel up to Connecticut for the Dirt Fishing Adventures metal detecting event. This is a natural treasure hunt on colonial farmland and yards, where everything found is completely natural, meaning nothing was planted or 'seeded' by the organizers. Some locations and amazing and some are tough, just like it should be. But with the experience of the group along with some amazing;y historic location I have a feeling some great things will be found!

Jason, your small bell looks more like a blow hole button. In tutor times and later when they were cast a hole had to be inserted to prevent the hot gasses and metal exploding.

I have a question. First of all I love the videos!! How do you find properties to go to and also get the permission to metal detect? Also is there an app or something to be able to see the landscape from long years past? I have a property that is pretty old I think. I actually found a lead toy soldier that Brad said is from wwII. So I know my property is old. I would love to see a map of my property from a couple hundred years ago. Our property had old barns on it etc. But it all burned in the tubs fire in 2017 in Santa Rosa CA. I have been metal detecting a little here and there. I know there is history here
