After the third coin I detected around it for a good 15 mins. Even shaved a good 6" layer off a solid 4' square section, but no more signals.

Nice hunt! The first piece is a feeler gauge for checking gaps on spark plugs etc. If you clean it up good you will notice that they are all different thicknesses and they will have a number on each one showing the thickness, .020, .030, etc. Awesome Barber & IHP spill!! That seems to be the most logical ID. I'm cleaning it up now so hopefully there's some markings on it. Each blade appears to have the same thickness which is the only reason I'm not 100% sure yet. Really appreciate the ID help!

You are right about looking around in the woods. I get cheeped out sometimes too. I will keep one ear uncovered so I can hear my surroundings. The item that you don't know about at 2:52 with the B inside is a bridal rosette. I have found two just like that one. 🖖

It is to check the points like old spark plugs . Look for a point checker for old Vehicles. My father was a mechanic and he had a set of those similar.

That could be right, some sort of feeler gauge. Each blade looked identical to me but maybe the differences were so subtle I just couldn't notice.

Metal Detecting Vermont is Correct that is a Horse Bridal Rosette. The folded over clip on the back is a give away. I have a WW1 one with the Great seal on it and it looks exactly the same from the back. Great coil spill Jason!! I think the Barber coins are my favorite design. I only have 1, although I did find my first Seated Dime last Sunday.

I found the same Whitehall bottle in the woods behind my house last year! Well, really about two acres of undeveloped land, but I've always called it the woods. I live in my parents house where I grew up, and my brother & I use to run all over when we were little.

WOW Jason, AMAZING finds this week. Super fancy button, silver baby, buff, glass pin, IHP, BD, everything dude. Congrats buddy. One of your best hunts, top 10 for sure. That 2nd big iron piece looks like a wedge, used when cutting trees, you would make a cut with a saw, and if it got stuck, you could put that in the cut and hit with a sledge hammer to get the saw out and get the tree to go over. Used with my grandfather and a chainsaw. Sometimes it took 2 wedges to get the saw out. cool lock and jacknife. that mystery piece, if those things are different sizes, ( looks for numbers on them ) it could be feeler gauges for spark plugs. My coolest day was 2 Decembers ago when I got to bring ll of the finds I dug at the school including a 1700 King William III half penny, in to the school and show all of the seventh grade classes. And told how I found all of these thing right under where they play. They could not believe it. Happy for ya Bud.
