this tape can be found in many widths and thicknesses just like foil for Kitchen use but search local HVAC supply stores, some only sell Wholesale to businesses but some like WW Grainger also sell retail to public. when you find a good fit stock up as you never know when Manufacturer may close and it has an unlimited shelf life. My fav is 4" wide and a bit thicker than yours but wider widths are also available if needed. the good brands will even stick to clean wet metal. also find an HVAC supplier that handle "Fiber Board" Duct products as they also have nylon paddles (Blue) to smooth out tape and often include 1 with multiple roll purchases as this is the main thing used to assemble the fiberglass board ductwork.

Lucky You! That would be a great test. An electronic cutting machine vs the die cutting machine with metal tape. That could be quite interesting. I don't think I would be able to be patient waiting several months LOL. Rosemarie, you are very fortunate. Leslie

Thank you Leslie. I have had some of that plumbers tape but forgot why I bought it...Thank you for your video's...I subscribed and thumbs up...I had to laugh when I saw that you had the original sizzix, I do to, but I put it away and forgot about it because since then I have the BIG SHOT, Big Kick, Grand Calibur (which I hate) and the Spellbinder Platinum. I think that is all of them...but that little machine was a great gift when I first started crafting...I LOVED THE VIDEO!!!

Just a hint on getting the backing paper off the tape: Bend a corner toward the metal side. The metal part this will usually separate the backing from the metal as the backing doesn't bend as easily and will try to straighten out.

***Fun. Good video! I would try to use the metal tape backing, that you pulled off. You could place on paper, maybe lightly ironing like you can with freezer wrap, and the spray paint, or dab inks over them and remove the backing. You could also use the square with the cut out, as a stencil!!

Leslie, I think it is called Plumbers Tape. I was trying to explain what I wanted to a guy in Home Depot and after I got it all out what I wanted, he figured it out, and says "ma'm, if you don't mind me asking, if you don't know what it is called, what are you using it for?" That is when I told him I was a crafter and he wouldn't believe what we use to make our cards, and stuff! He just laughed and said "OK!" but I think he was really thinking, Crazy Women! LOL You should have seen the other guys face when I told him what I wanted to use Magnetic Vent Covers for (my dies) He laughed and shook his head. I said well, sir, you should see what my husband needs out of my stash of Home Depot things that men use, and I then laughed...in fact we both laughed...It is very sticky! Thank you Leslie. THUMBS UP!

Just watched this again. Thanks for trying the lighter on the back of the foil. I mentioned using thick embossing powder. I remember heating the embossing powder until it melted. Michael's sells the little electric pot. You leave it in the pot and use it when you want (yes it does get hard again). We dipped something in the embossing powder several times to make object thicker. Then used on a card. Also trying shink art again. Have fun and thanks
