I really like that you add the material from Sabaton's history channel to the music video. It gives so much more context to the song. Thanks so much for a great reaction.

Reminds me of the song "Snoopy vs. The Red Baron" from 1966 by The Royal Guardsman" (had to Google the details, I just remembered hearing the song back in the day). Obviously, that song was much more lighthearted than this one, but there aren't that many songs out there about historical topics, even silly ones, which is a shame. Many people these days seem to have a woeful lack of interest in history, which I have always found fascinating. I hope history doesn't repeat itself yet again, as George Santayana warned, especially given the global tensions we face currently.

YES! that's what I was thinking of, too. I was also thinking of It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, where we see Snoopy, in his Sopwith Camel, getting shot down by The Red Baron and having to make his way through France to get to the Halloween party and make out with Lucy (AAAH! DOG GERMS!!!!!!) I think history will repeat itself because of the masses of the willfully ignorant.

Tommy will not be forgotten, he decided to do / persuit his own career for now, but they (the other members of Sabaton and him) are still on good terms. As they are with all of their former members. Joakim and Pär are the foundation and the constant from the beginning.

Hay Bill 😊 The Red Baron is my favorite Sabaton song, and it is a hell of a party, when they play it live. The story of him is great and maybe so known because of the mystery of his death. I read somewhere that "kaputt" wasn't the only word he said, but it was the only one the Australians understood because he spoke german. And he was only 25 years old when he died (most of the pilots - or soldiers in gerneral - were so young) makes his story more tragic, in my opinion. Grüße from Red Barons homeland 😉

Danke! Yes, so young. Such heros! 25 yr olds today are such children compared to back then. I was very touched by the respect he was given by the Aussies. Incredible! Greetings from NY!! 🤘❤️🤘

Listening to your intro, and just startled giggling, when you said, "...I am DYING to check this out..." Sorry...couldn't resist. 🤣😂😇 I LOVE Sabaton music, and this was a fantastic piece of work, all the way around! Thanks for sharing and reacting, Bill. Great job! I loved where the discussion at the end turned to having to have some computer help for the organ playing. My mom played the organ TREMENDOUSLY. She was raised playing classical music on the violin, accordion, piano, and organ! She was simply a musician who FELT the music, and organ music was one of her favorite things to play--with both fingers and feet flying. The whole time I was growing up, I would get to spend at least one evening a week with her, over at our church (which was right around the corner, literally, from either the elementary school OR the high school...well...it was a couple of blocks one way, and then a couple of blocks after the turn, but the schools were about four blocks apart, with the turn right in the middle of that space). Anyway...after her day of work, Mom would go to practice for Sunday's music, and we kids were expected to walk to the church right after school. We could do our homework, then, if we had any, or we could play with the neighbor kids, etc. What I loved to do most, was just sit and listen, and sing the hymns (and sometimes dance music she was practicing) with my mom. Then sometimes, if there was time before we headed home (two miles out of town), I'd get to sit and play the organ, myself for half-an-hour or so. In later years, I bought a smaller console organ to have at home, and I TOTALLY loved getting to play a lot of the old music that my mom had played so long before, though I never equaled her agility and style.

I knew you would like this one! I used to own an organ. A guy around the corner from the house I grew up in was selling his old organ (can't remember the make or model). Asking only $100 for it so I grabbed it! Had it for many years- a thrash metal beat is basically really a very fast polka beat so I primarily used to for rhythms while I played my guitar. I loved all the sounds it made and that classic church organ sound, loved it. But times being hard back then I sold it. Sure do miss it though.

Manford got most of his kills in that albatross despite what the legend makes it out to be that he got it in the Fokker triplane most of it was in the Abatross another pilot you ought to look up is Werner Voss he took on something like eight aircraft at one time. To my knowledge he didn't shoot down any aircraft in his last engagement. But manage to put a bullet in everyone before he was killed.

I don't want to get too close to you, but when you said he couldn't have been a bad person because he loved dogs.... Adolf Hitler also loved dogs, so much that he was sure before he committed suicide that his dog wouldn't fall into the hands of them Russians a lot to perhaps be tortured to death there! Well it didn't make any difference to the dog she was dead in the end but it was a quick death. So not everyone who loves dogs is a good person.

One should not heroize him too much, as the Germans and their opponents did. He enjoyed killing, even as a child when hunting. He also later took trophies from his opponents. I really like that you go so deep into songs.
