Wow! That voice! What an epic song that was. Even not understanding a word, it certainly drew me in and kept me enthralled all the way through. The musicianship of all the band members was top notch. But, that lead singer was something else. I don't like growls, but the grit and distortion that man had in his voice was right up my alley. Thank you, new patron, for suggesting this.

I know! I love his voice! Great band! I loved the enormity of the stage show. The props (sword, cloak, mask) and the effects, although I give him credit for having the nerve to be hanging 20- 30 ft. over the crowd. Amazing!

There are 2-3 songs in the program to give the whole band some resting moments. This is one of them. May sound wierd for the TV stars but those bands are playing 3-4 times in a week in different cities. They need it.

I liked the same points as you. The rolling r's, the beautiful green 💚 guitar, & how foreign voices make for epic metal music. This singer had a wonderful control with his ebbs & flows. Loved how he'd turn the grit off & provide clear tones & visa versa. (What I admire about Dan, too.) His use of theatrical vocals was also a surprising pleasure. I wasn't too keen about the exaggerated (imo) stage design/production, a little over board, I'd say, but to each their own. The lyrics reminded me of the concept of the interesting movie Boondock Saints. Overall, they have a great great sound from the band to the singer. G'night, Bill. Thanks for sharing.

@BemusingBill This singer already gave us the "Dan" delight, imo. Totally amazing singers, both Dan & this new guy. (I need to find the names lest he always be immortalized in my memory as new guy) Cool fact more. The movie was written & directed by a scriptwriter who was bartenders (or visaversa). It only played on stage, with dynamic over theatrical effects, until word of mouth made it so popular, they developed a movie for it. I hope for this band great success too.

@@umarae27 This singer's name is Michail (or Michael for English-speakers) Zhitnyakov. Fun fact: he is much younger than other band members and joined Aria in 2011, when the band was 26 years old already. He was always a fan of the band and singing was just his hobby, while having "usual" well-payed job. Then they invited him to join...and life totally changed. Some kind of a "dream come true" story

This song is not a part of concept album, but it is based on a book. I didn't read it, so can't tell if it's accurate or not unfortunately. As for translation - that's just a translation word-to-word, line-to-line, I guess that is done for following the actual lyrics while listening to the song. But sounds odd if you read it isolated. As for the show - that was a presentation show for the album released in 2018 (which was mixed and produced by Roy Z by the way). Band's stage director decided it would be great to do something really HUGE and special, and they did it. Each song has a show part for it and main singer does more than 10 costume changes between the songs (if I'm not mistaken). This song is followed by the next one, "The Antichrist", which comes from the different album but has some similar ideas in the lyrics.

Hello dear. Mikhail Zhitnyakov sings this song well, but Aria’s second vocalist Arthur Berkut (2002 - 2011) began performing it for the first time. According to most Aria fans, Berkut's song sounded better. Нет, всё таки эта песня не Михайла Житнякова. Послушайте эту песню в исполнении Артура Беркута, он пел эту песню изначально, под него она была написана, когда Артур был солистом Арии.

@_bug да, по каким-то навыкам перепевает, но в его исполнении нет того драматизма, который есть в исполнении Беркута. Именно драматизма, а не пафоса. При этом исполнение Михаила я считаю отличным, но Беркут - в этой песне его невозможно перепеть.ЗЫ. Артур в Палаче не использует фальцет.

Kipelov did not sing this song because when Aria’s album “Baptism by Fire” was released, from which this song was released, Kipelov was no longer in the group. By the way, Arthur Berkut (2002-2011), when he was at the peak of his capabilities in Aria, performed this song much better than Zhitnyakov does today. Aria's two albums with Berkut are simply gorgeous.

Почитай комменты к альбомам - перезаписям Крещения огнём и Армагедона в исполнении Житнякова. Что-то вокал Житнякова там почти никто не хвалил.

​@@2000pastorВсе боевики времен Беркута в исполнении Житнякова звучат на порядок хуже. Он серьёзно прокачал вокал, но этого все равно мало. Это все равно что женщине пытаться петь басом наравне с мужчиной - как не старайся, а так же убедительно не получится.
