Such a devastating way to end 2020. As soon as I heard of his passing, I had to immediately tune to this album. How I learned about MF was through Special Herbs 1&2, which was the first album I ever listened. I fell in love with it, just one dope track after another. MF DOOM, is and shall be the greatest, baddest, and dopest villain ever to reign planet Earth.

Daniel Dumile wasn't only the best MC ya ever heard, but also a magnificent producer and mixer. These beats got DOOMs (metal) fingers all over it. You can tell he made it by himself at home with humble equipment. It's Low Fi, but in that scratchy simplicity is something memorable, disjointed yet holistic. It's a collage of memories from the past, mixed with hopes for the future. Yes, our beloved rapper -MF DOOM- was an artist extraordinaire, and left his indelible mark on the stone face/cliff of history. Rest in Peace God...if you are in fact demised...wouldn't be the first time a celeb faked their death. He was a recluse and quite eccentric so it's not a stretch if you think about it. Anyway, that's what I hope is the truth. I was so shocked when I heard the news I legit got teary and choked up. Then I heard the rumors that he faked it, but then again, they always say that. Elvis still gets sighted every day, walking down the street or appearing as an image on someone's morning toast. We like to hang on to hope and believe things that give us comfort. Anyway, if you've read this far then you are just as sad as me to hear our favorite rapper is gone (or you're just bored). So sad, yet maybe he's spittin some rhymes on a beach somewhere. If his wife "dies" any time soon then we know it's all a hoax, and then they both be sitting on a beach, just enjoying life, out of the public eye.

My oldest brother told me about Doom and I always felt like I had the scoop on underground rap when I went into hip hop. It took a while for me to really appreciate his genius.
