Out of all of the tracks the dude can play, he played the track with the longest intro lmao.
@ultimomondocannibale60846 жыл бұрын
I think it's a good track to start out with honestly. Dude said he wanted to play an examle for people who may not be so familiar with DOOM and a great way to show people how crazy he is as not only a lyricist but also as a producer is to show them a track like Beef Rap where the whole intro is comprised of tons of different samples that all pertain to food and tell a story, or give a bit of information on DOOM himself. It demonstrates all the skills of DOOM amazingly.
@tehgreatist6 жыл бұрын
I disagree. It looked like DOOM did too from the look he gave like "really, this one?". I am a huge DOOM fan and I always skip that intro. I understand playing the song, but as the FIRST ONE I'm sure a lot of people were confused.

It’s not your friends that are idiots, DOOM’s music, even if I personally value him as one of the best musician of this period of history, is kinda hard to get into. He doesn’t quite follow classic song structures, he experiments a lot with sonority, he adds voluntary crispiness and lofi style to his sound, he adds shit tons of obscure radio/cartoon/movie samples here and there and his overall discography doesn’t contain much “bangers” or just tracks with pop appeal. I guess if you’re not that much passionate about music and that it’s just something you listen for fun and entertainment it’s not for you. But everyone has their own point of interests. Could also simply be that your friends are young, and that they don’t want to try out new types of music for now, but maybe they’ll do later

I genuinely look up to DOOM as one of the main philosophical influences on life, but specifically regarding the process of creating art that’s true to yourself before worrying about mainstream appeal. One choice benefits your wallet, the other benefits your soul. I use music as a meditation on the joy of ingenuity, and I think DOOM embodied that perfectly. Rest In Peace to this wonderfully remarkable human being, we all miss you dearly.

Makes me sad watching this interview because I always used to read it instead. Learning how much thought he put into his music, from the concept to lyrics to production to the message he try to convey. He didn’t just rap and make beats, he was creating full fledged art in a way no one has seen before. Creating his own universe with his own characters and have us literally craving anything he released so we can see how the story continues. Crazy thing about is he knew what he was doing the whole time. Like artists like him, you would think he was just chilling and doing his thing however whatever but no.. DOOM had everything planned like a real villain would. Rest In Peace Legend.
