Not gonna lie, this figure looks amazing, but not being in scale killed it for me. I wanted a 1/100 RG-esque Nu Gundam it basically only fits in with Chogokin figures and not much else.

As far as I know it doesn't scale with anything in the DX Chogokin or Soul of Chogokin line, the only things that have a scale known in DX Chogokin line are the Macross VF-1 in 1/48 scale and the other Macross series Valkyries in 1/60.

@@krtos7514 True, but I find it odd that as of right now the Soul of Chogokin Gundam Aerial is supposed to be 1/100 so I wonder why Nu Gundam isn’t that way too.

@@23mechanic could be a budget matter or a management limitation, maybe the Metal Build line design team has their hands full and doesn't have more budget to spare and the budget in the Chogokin line is more limited, so they shrunk the scale

I want to say it's 1/100 scale to the statue, but the statue isn't 1/1 scale to the anime. Statue is 20m head height, Nu is supposed to be 24m, grandpa is 18m. So that puts the FF Nu right in between grandpa and Nu Ver Ka height.

Might be the odd one out here, but I really like the colors on this version of the nu gundam way better. Hell the big ass cannon alone makes it cooler! I got the RG recently (my first purchase with Buyee) and its my favorite RG by far.

Haha same! I always wanted to give buyee a try and Hi Nu was my first purchase. Always sold out around my area or just incredibly rare- so I treated myself with the kit and the P-Bandai exclusive Cannon. Love the look of the kit, I do like the RG's darker tone colour scheme more but I get how the brighter colour scheme can be appealing too.

When this was announced I wondered why this wasn’t part of the Metal Build brand despite being priced like one but your review really shines the light on it for me. It just lacks the polish and the extra gimmick that are usually expected from a MB. The high price is probably accounted for it for not being a mass retail production.

what you said about the ratchets on the legs, means that the leg ratchets are more than likely on the wrong way round, because surely the point of them having ratchets on the legs is to stop it falling backwards.

well the shoulder armor that splits when moving up the arm while not moving the shoulder armor is a design trait of the Fukuoka statue when it is moving.

From other reviews, there's often some sort of paint bleeding and sometimes even visible nub marks under the painted parts. 11:03 I wouldn't be surprised if this was the actual case. 11:34 That shoulder gimmick is pretty cool. 12:53 This is a cool gimmicks as well. 13:08 I'm surprised the RG didn't come with a beam effect part like this. 13:37 Well at least they included a spare v-fin. I do agree that Bandai should include it with Gunpla. However some older kits included a spare actually, but it was in a rubbery form and not a hard plastic one. Overall though, I think fans of the RX-93ff ν Gundam should just get the RG version. But the Metal Frame RX-93ff ν Gundam has a lot of merits. It's just that for the price they're asking and the quality control issues here and there, the arm not able to holding up with weapon without the aid of that display arm... It might make fans reconsider.

going off topic a bit, but i remember there was a video showing chinese people (yes they're confirmed to be chinese and they're around more or less 20) were seen buying the metal frame chogokin Nu because there was a 1 per person rule when buying it and scalpers were still trying to buy these whole sale.

You can get two copies in US P-Bandai. And unlike any other region where the figure was sold out within few hours, the one in US P-B was available all the way til its pre-order window close date. I know that some time it is unavoidable to buy from scalper but to curb that trend we need to keep it minimal.

Didn't know this was gonna release, is interesting that they released in the Chogokin line, thought they would launch it in the Metal Build line like the Yokohama Gundam. Love the weapon gimmick but the colors and the paint details look weird to me, a shame they didn't scale it with anything.

Hey,i was looking at getting my first gunpla and id like some help. I was thinking of going with the entry grade rx 78 with the extra weapons but the fact it doesnt come with extra hands and alegedly becomes floppy with time its throwing me off,so i was thinking of getting the hg Gm and at a later date get the revive rx 78 or the rg rx 78, but ive heard that one gets floppy with time too,but i like the fact it has the inner frame and core fighter. Is there a way to fix the loose joints? shouldijust get the revive rx 78 or stick with the gm?

Think about what your favorite Gundam series is and get a kit from said series that was released in 2010 at the earliest.

Depends on your skill, customizing gundam can be much better than the out of the box. or ruin it instead. I am not surprised if someone make custom die cast inner frame for rg version. Which maybe can help us getting cheaper cool and playable gunpla. But don't forget, sometimes it has bad fit, so you will need to do some cleanup to avoid breaking your parts. Modifying: infinite budget, infinite possibility Metal Figure: Generally good out of the box but high budget

Honestly most metal builds are not that detailed to begin with. There are few exceptions but they are not panel line heavy. This is a copy of the RG which you liked so take it for what it is. The exceptions of heavy detail metals was Wing Zero and 1/60 Nu Gundam the rest is plain but not as plain as the anime.

Dunno man, but this version of Nu feels like an Excuse to the Statue of Nu gundam that they made, cause having multiple Fin Funnel on a giant statue feels impossible to make LOL

I think they couldn’t make the fin funnel wing happen, so instead made one big funnel to act as a tripod leg.

I'm probably the only one who doesn't like this version of the Nu Gundam, it just doesn't work for me, and I really dislike that Long Range "fin funnel", it looks cool I give that... But it's not a funnel (doesn't even work as one 👀) Edit: So, apparently it does work as a funnel, thing is, we can only see it on a videogame that's Japan exclusive (for now at least)...

Metal Frame line is a downgrade of Metal build. I haven't heard anyone end up satisfied with their purchases because of QC. If you can paint your kit, you can save a lot and have fun. If you can pay, get the Metal build.
