The Big Boss from this Metal Gear is not the real one. It's Venom Snake from MGSV:The Phantom Pain. I know, I'm 1 year too late

@@YamishadDS But didn't Big Boss said in mgs4 that snake erased him 2 times? And isn't venom snake something that came after? It does make more sense that big boss only lost once but we're talking about metal gear here

That's what the ending of Phantom Pain is all about, both sharing the hardships that come by adopting the nickname of Big Boss and becoming the same figure. I mean, not only Venom Snake is Big Boss in a symbolic sense, but he has the memories, abilities (as seen throughout MGSV: TPP) and mindset of Naked Snake, so actually he kind of is Big Boss?

The game is kinda dark. Was it that dark on MSX in the first place? I ran it using an MSX emu and the image was much brighter.

Emulators, rarely, don't always fully emulate what the game looked like.

It starts out dark because of a video error from the stream. Part way through you can see it be corrected.

you can skip the o2 tank. stand left of the water at rank 4 and go straight up if you have full health.

It's not. In fact it's one of the easy games of its era. Try Metroid (similar genre but without stealth) and see how much harder it is compared to Metal Gear (and Metroid is not considered a hard game). Ghosts'N'Goblins, Gradius, Battletoads - those games are actually hard. Even after completing the first 2 games multiple times you probably won't feel that you have a grip on those.

+Owen Williams This is the original Metal Gear from the MSX, which was ported over to the PS2 in Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. The NES Metal Gear is not considered canon.

What? MSX OST is original and atmospheric. NES OST is just regular Konami sound no different from Contra (which is not bad at all, but MSX OST fits way better).
